Carousel inn Tripadvisor 3 1/2 stars. Yelp 2 1/2

no there is no reason, I just want to be far from the noise of the pool and the breakfast area (light sleeper here), so I was wondering if you remember your room number maybe?

The only noise we encountered was people going by and the helicopter-airconditioner. We were usually asleep between 12:30 and 1am, and slept soundly until we woke at 7am. During the day you would hear kids running by and/or their parents chasing after them. But while we were getting ready for bed or waking for the day, I don't recall hearing anything. We didn't have any noisy neighbors or anything. Just passers-by.

So what do you recomend in my case? I don't want to have the breakfast room above me......

I'm a little confused about where your room would be..ours were in what is called the 'Tower" but, like I said, wasn't. I don't even know if there are rooms there..I know the breakfast room is there and I'd think that area is the only that has a view of the park. Really..it's a fine location and not awful (but pricey I thought for what it is) I just don't want people to think one thing and be surprised when they get there.

are you planning on going to sleep early or sleeping in late?? if so then ok yeah pool noise should be a consideration but if not I wouldnt even worry about it...my opinion for what its worth is this...I totally use Tripadvisor for hotels and have been for many years...I also use Yelp but only for restaurants and stores...

Since this sunday, is going to be the presidential elections here in Mexico, and we dont know how is going to affect our currency , $150 dollars is a lot of money difference between the CCI and the Carousel. Just to know, that is not awful, made my day....Thanks......

Thanks, I am going to ask if I can Have that room, it won't hurt to ask.....

My two kids, ages 5 and 3, and I just stayed at the Carousel last weekend. We had a Tower room with 2 queens and it worked out perfect. It was a little tight because my 3 year old is still in a pack and play crib, but after moving some furniture, I got it to fit. We stayed in room 309 and, like everyone said, we did hear people walking back and forth outside the room, but it wasn't anything too disruptive.

I don't know how busy the pool usually is, but we used it on Monday morning and there was no one else there.

The concierge rooms are similar to basic, they are just farther down towards the back of the motel away from the noise. They have granet counter tops, robes and slippers, the rooms I found to be a tad bigger, and you get free hot breakfasts. Some concierge rooms seem to have hard wood where others have carpet. :confused3

The standards rooms are similar to the concierge, but they have a sliding door that closes off the bedroom area from the bathroom, and the counter sink area just outside the washroom. Also you wont get the robes or slippers or anything. But the rooms are still nice. But with the free continental breakfast you have to pay for the hot food unless you want the free fruits, pastery, coffee etc.

I really like the concierge suites and if I can score them, I am a very happy girl.

No concierge , they were sold out......:sad2:
Also, no time to be on robes or slippers, I have to hit the Parks.:woohoo:

Yes, there are rooms in that tower-like facade. That's where they have the "View Suites", which I believe are pretty pricey. So if you reserve a View Suite, you run the risk of being above or below the breakfast room. If you don't, you'll be clear of the breakfast room.

:rotfl: Agreed. To be honest I never really used them myself. The robes may have been alright if you were going up to the pool or something in the evening, but I only ever went up when it was hot out.

Ahh..good to know. Then yes, if there are actual rooms in that tower thing, they'd have a great view and probably be many steps above the standard rooms.

Breakfast was pastries, donuts, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, apples and oranges.

There is a hot breakfast available to the concierge rooms or if you pay for it. But I can't say what it consists of.

Only problem is you pay for the "view suite" regardless of floor. We splurged one trip as it was a birthday celebration with close friends. We had a lower room and our expensive "view" was of the trees that line Harbor Blvd. And we could look up at the monorail track. I complained - felt it was misleading - but to no avail. At the end of the day - we still had a blast in the large room with friends - but unless you can guarantee the higher floor view suite - not worth the $$

What kind of "free hot food" are you refering to. When I called and asked they stated what they had and said there was no difference to what people get for breakfast. They said no difference between the concierge room and standard room when it comes to breakfast???

That is what they told us too. :confused3 I guess we will see in about 3 weeks!

I think I read in another Thread a couple of months ago, that if you are staying in concierge, they will give you coupons for an egg sandwich or kind of hot burrito from Quinzos. They sell it for around 3 dollars ir you are in standard room. But again, maybe they changed that allready, like Park Vue Inn that are going to change the food options tomorrow, July 1 .:confused3
