Havent been since they revamped but noticed the menu shows an "all day" one...historically, CC isnt open at night except during the warmer months...so since they have an all day menu and now have indoor seating, does this mean they will stay open during the month of dec. for dinner?

Oh and can you get the soup with your sandwich as a substitute or do you have to purchase it separately?

I thought part of the point of adding the indoor seating was for the restaurant to stay open late for dinner. As for the soup with sandwich question, I haven't been yet to try. I noticed that they removed the soup and half sandwich option, so I'm guessing the soup is only available as an add-on to a meal now. I doubt they're going to substitute a $5.49 bowl of soup for a serving of fries, even for a small upcharge. :confused3 Also noticed that the bowl of soup is no longer on the menu as posted online. Wonder if it's still possible to order or if it's really gone too. The menu at Carnation has changed so much, we're debating if we're going to bother going there anytime soon. I'm interested in seeing more reports about the food and experience there these days.

I assumed that it was going to be open even at night but you never know:confused3....but as far as the other, that is exactly what Ive been worried about

anybody know about the bowl vs a cup or about adding on the soup for a cheaper price than $5.49??

I went for the first time 2 weeks ago because I remember reading all the reviews of how good it was. Nothing on the menu stood out to me as I have to have this. So I only ordered the fried pickles and the bowl of baked potato soup. They were both delicious and ended up being my meal. So I can't answer your question. :-)

I ate here last night with my sister and two young daughters. We were not impressed. My sister and my 3yo both had the "Chicken fried chicken". The kids portion was seriously not that smaller than the adult's. Meaning that the adult's was small! The chicken at Plaza Inn is way better, and at least you get a real vegetable there versus this Edamame Succatash (carb city!). This is also my complaint about the starchy sides at Flo's V8 Cafe, but I digress. The burgers looked good.

I had a yummy shrimp salad with blue cheese, bacon, and avacado. We also shared the special lemonade drink there, which was good, but advertised as 3.19 on the menu, but 3.69 on the bill. I pointed it out to the waitress, who just said that's weird. Service was pretty bad too. Lots of empty tables, but long waits. Something about a shift change. But we ate at 6:30, which should be prime dinner hour and should be fully staffed imo.

i usually get the same thing every time and seeing as they still have it on the menu, Im not too worried...but the soup??? is it an actual "bowl" like it used to be or is it a "cup"?

I heard it was just a cup now.:headache:

I wish I could find that link that had a picture of the new menu. I was a bit frustrated with the new menu because as you pointed out it's an "all day" menu and doesn't even include kids options.

And to the other OP- we don't even bother with CC, the portion sizes are way too small and it's just not THAT great. Although I think I may have to try those fried pickles!

ah ok...did they change the sizes of the sandwiches too???? i hope not...its my fav.

Does anyone know if they took the kids Smuckers' Painter's Pallette option off the menu? I was going to make reservation for our vacation there in 3 weeks since my daughter loves PB&J? DL dining app has the option but not online at DL wesbite.

Curious if it's worth the lunch reservation, or if anyone has better lunch in DL park options for us?

Yes it is just a cup not an actual bowl. We ate dinner there 7/1.

DL has been pretty slow so far this year and CC has been hit badly. They had to cut staffing back so much that some of the long terms servers like Troy have moved to other restaurants over at DCA. Servers at CC can't even get a shift longer than 6 hours so many transfered so they could still make enough money to live on.

Can anyone post pictures of what the refurbished CC looks like? Is the Blue Ribbon Bakery still there? :confused3 :tink:

The Blue Ribbon bakery is gone, but the Jolly Holiday Bakery is in the white building at the very end of main street by the hub, that used to be AP processing once upon a time. They have a variety of pastries and sandwiches, and they're pretty good. :)

Yes, we visited several weeks ago and they took the Peanut Butter Painters Palette off the menu, my kids were very disappointed.

Just had to say what a lovely family you have.

The only reason we would go to the cc is because my kids loved the make ur own pb n j. Oh my we have a priority seating reservation but might as well cancel now :confused3 they are going to be sooo upset:worship:

Really? Ugh! I'm guessing I'll be canceling a reservation... The reason why we were going there was because of that. Now, the menu appears to just be all the same stuff you could get everywhere else in the park. (hamburger, mac&cheeese)
