Has anyone bought a used car from Carmax? What did you think of the process and do you feel you got a good deal? Was the car in a good reliable condition?

Have bought 2 cars from CarMax. The process was okay and the cars were in good and reliable condition. A good deal? We paid a fair price. Could we have gotten a better deal elsewhere? Possibly. If we had wanted to spend the time haggling and negotiating. We didn't, so CarMax worked for us.

I do like the fact that you have a 5 day money back guarantee and a 30 day warranty.

Thanks Richard. I've done a lot of research and they look like their prices are fair on the specific model we're looking for. The haggling process is something both DH and I hate.

My DH worked there for about a month (only quit because he needed more money)...but according to him, they have good cars, and their salespeople make the same profit on EVERY car, so they won't pressure you into anything you don't want for their benefit.
You MAY be able to find a better deal somewhere, but you'd have to work for it..and it is hard to find a dependable one.
You get what you pay for as 'they' say!

I bought a car from them in '97 and was happy with the car and the deal. We also sold our van to them in 2002 and got a very decent price for it.

I bought a car through them last year. I liked the no haggling as well and I am very happy with my car.

The turn signals stopped working about a week after I got the car and they gave me a loaner off of the lot and I had my car back the same day . . . . I have been very happy with them so far and I would buy another car off of them again. They make it easy to buy a car, good prices and I think the quality of the cars they sell are great too.

I love the car we bought from them. It's been a good, problem-free (knock on wood) car and it was immaculate when we took it home.

The best part was examing cars on our own and no high pressure sales tactics. Basically, what you see is what you get and it's very simple. I'm a big fan now.
