Caribbean Itineraries- How often do they cycle through?

Looking for some context about ports in the Caribbean. I began looking at DCL cruises a few months ago and fell in love with the 5-day itinerary on the Magic this summer that goes to Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay, but a cruise this summer just wasn't very likely. We were hoping for a similar itinerary for Summer 2024 for our first DCL cruise, but that doesn't seem to be offered (and I'm a teacher, so can't be very flexible on dates). I've always wanted to do Stingray City in GC, and Castaway seems like a must, so that seemed like a slam dunk for a first DCL cruise with our will be 7 and 5 year olds. So my question is this: Has that combo of Grand Cayman/Castaway Cay been common in the past (so maybe there would be hope for a future year)? Or was this year the exception and that is not a usual itinerary for DCL (and I just need to stop pouting and get over it, haha!)? Thanks for any insight!

The Magic used to do the European/Med cruises in the summer before the Wish came along. The Fantasy has been doing a 7 night Western cruise that goes to GC and CC for many many years. I think the Magic did that same 5 night cruise from Miami in the winter, so I would expect them to do it more often now that the Dream is going overseas this summer. Disney doesn't change things very often.

Worst case, you will have to sail on the fantasy 7 night western. The fantasy sails to GC and castaway every other week.

I think that the majority of the shorter cruises that do GC/CC are either when they need to fit in a relocation or when they sail from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Galveston or New Orleans which aren't as common as the 7-night Western cruise which goes every second week and includes a stop in Falmouth, Jamaica.

We are booked on the 5 night Disney Dream out of Fort Lauderdale for spring 2024 that goes to both Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay. Departure day 3/31.

Depending upon your spring break (my husband works in education, too), that might work for your schedule.

The Fantasy (typically every other week) does a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise that stops at both Castaway and GC. There are other ports (Cozumel and Falmouth, Jamaica), too.

I've noticed the shorter cruises usually go for Cozumel instead of Grand Cayman. The 6/7 night as discussed in other posts is probably your best bet if you really want to get Grand Cayman
