Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ's Part II

I'd like to know if Disney ever finishes these projects a week or so early?... We are planning to go down Sept. 7 - 13 and I read somewhere that they intend to reopen the pool on the 15th... if they would finish a week or two early that would be awesome for us... For some reason I just don't like the idea of having an evening drink beside barricades instead of the pool view we had on our last trip... :sad2:

We'll be at CBR next week. I just noticed on my reservation it says "water view". I didn't request it but did book through WDT with a Disney Visa code and took what they offered me. I've stayed at CBR before but never in a 'water view' room. Any ideas of exactly what that means? I assume a lake view. I haven't requested any particular area.

My sister and I are meeting there, each with a 'big' kid (ages 9 and almost 8). We don't mind a moderate walk to food or the pool. We'd like quiet, fairly near a bus stop and with a lovely view. I'm excited to show her CBR.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Water view at CBR means a view of the lake OR a view of your village's quiet pool. Every village has some views of the lake, and every village has its own quiet pool ... so there's no way of knowing which island/building you'll be assigned to.

Unfortunately, if a water view room is listed on your reservation then you paid extra for it. At rack rate, water view costs an extra $15-$26 per night, depending on the season.

What happens if I reserved and paid for a Preferred Room and get there, and there are none available? This is my worst fear, or that they have me booked in a water view at the far end of Trinidad instead of my preferred room that I reserved. Please help, I am scared that I won't get a good room.

If you booked preferred you will probably get one. I haven't heard of anyone that didn't get a preferred room when they booked that category.

We leave on the 15th and I am now regretting NOT booking a preferred. What are the chances of them upgrading us upon arrival? I don't mind paying for it. We willl be arriving around noon. Any suggestions on how to get the upgrade?

You can ask if there are any free upgrades available. Otherwise call now and change your reservation to preferred if available.

Thanks. I know I'm paying more and I'm not thrilled. I didn't ask for the view but I was late changing resorts (at my sister's request) and that's what they would give me (on the Disney Visa code I was using). I wonder if I can 'trade' for a preferred room. I'm going to ask at check-in.

I am sure that this has already been posted so please forgive me for asking again.

I would love to see some pics of CBR in December to see what decorations they have for Christmas. We will be there the first week of December 2008.

In this thread somewhere are pictures that I took at CBR when it was decorated for Christmas. I plan to go over to the resort today and take pictures.

I need help!!!!
I am needing to find out what size of milk the fridge will hold? Gallon or quart, 2 quarts? Also, what is the best way of buying milk and water if we don't have a car? Either there at the resort, Garden Grocer, anyone else? Thanks in advance!!

Great - I would really love it if you could post an update post with the new pics when you get a chance!

CBR decorated for Christmas 2007. I didn't think they had as many decorations as they did in years past.

Pictures of the construction near the main pool, bridge, walkway to Trinidad North. This work is being done behind screening. If you have a room in Trinidad North be prepared for some extra walking. If you are making a request for a preferred room I would suggest Martinique. If you are familiar with CBR, the walkway from Trinidad North is now closed at a place that requires you to take the sidewalk to the parking lot. You walk through the parking lot and that takes you to the side of the gift shop or main pool. There is signage from Trinidad North to Old Port Royale but leaving OPR towards Trinidad North the signage is not so good. This also is the new path that bikes must take. I didn't see any signs indicating you couldn't go to the other part of the lake. The level was down but I have seen it lower.

If you are thinking of requesting a preferred room in Trinidad North I would suggest requesting Martinique unless the extra walking doesn't bother you. You can see from the pictures that it is more involved than it was several weeks ago.

I would guess that the new pool area is going to come out further. The two exits in the pool area that opened to the sidewalk and bridge are closed.

We just got back yesterday and have to say that we throughly enjoyed our stay at CBR. It was clean and quiet. We stayed in Trinidad North building 31 and didn't hear any construction noise. We went to both the main pool and our quiet pool and enjoyed both. Check-in was quick, there were a lot of CM working on checking people in. OPR was great, we went there for breakfast once and snack a few nights.

If you have any questions just ask.
