Here are pictures I took today Nov. 13. The big crane is gone, there is a small backhoe working. There was hardly any sound.

Thanks always for the awesome pictures, safetymom!

I am *thisclose* to getting my parents to take me again to CBR from 1/26-2/2 for my birthday/graduation present! :cool1: I LOVE CBR.

I can't wait until I get there in 24 days to see exactly what they are building, it sure looks interesting.

This is a nutty idea, but what are the chances that they could be expanding the pool area out that way and that is the start of some kind of decking or sea wall for it? ;) A girl can dream eh??? :cloud9:

OK so Jan 18-21 2008 will be my FIRST time to Disney EVER. I am a 38 year old mom, my husband and 7 year old daughter will be going.

Picked the CBR despite the pool issue since they mentioned each area also has their own pool Hope to not be disappointed although I figured Jan weather may not be condusive to swimming everyday and we have 4 day hoppers so how much will we really be there? Am I naive??

Questions: based on what I have read- I should call and request a specific area (Jamica etc) for our rooms? I don't know what criteria to even consider on that request. We are staying in a preffered room (not sure what that actually means). Any good tips specific to that info?

I have booked a Cinderella breakfast one morning for my daughter and us and dinner at the MGM with tickets to the Fantastmic on my husband's birthday but other than that we are winging it??

Sorry that I am such a rookie but would love any relevant tips based on what I have shared so far.

thanks so much all:yay:

btw- is it too late to find out if there are any discounts for the room or anything? I was completely unaware that those exisited. Anyone know anything???

Welcome to the DIS. If you are in a preferred room I don't think you really need to make a room request. You are already close to the food court(which is what preferred is).

When we lived in PA and came to FL we swam quite a few times in Jan.

Thank you.
I am still trying to get acclimated to the fact that there are so many tips and things that might be useful and helpful.

Having never been to Disney I really don't know what to expect but we are so very excited.

appreciate any help.

The best way to approach research on CBR is to read the first post of this thread and then work your way back from the end of it.

You will find many trip reports and photos from folks that were very happy with their CBR vacation.

Thank you I spent the better part of 4 hours last night and this morning looking through all of that. For me - its hard to know what some of the things are that are being referred too- plus with no bench mark I don't know if somethings will matter to us or not. Like being close to the food court vs the pool vs the bus stop etc :goodvibes

We just hope to have a great time and see and do as much as possible while not killing each other!!

Each village has its own quiet pool so you are never far from a pool. You will be close to the food court because you are in a preferred room. Each village also has its own bus stop so you wouldn't do a lot of walking there.

Thank you.

You picked a pretty resort for your first stay. I was glued to this thread prior to our trip and it was so helpful. Even with the pictures I had a difficult time picturing it and could never seem to "see" it until we arrived.

Have you visited the Theme Parks and the Dining forums? There are a lot of Disney Experts to gather info from and they are all willing to share their experience. Four trip and I am still "studying" those boards. Have a great time!

Will check out those forums next! I was trying to figure out the hotel info up front since I didnt want to wait until the last minute if I screwed it up!! LOL

I will re-read through the FAQ's and other threads as it gets closer.

Will check with my husband about AAA, I know we used too but not sure if we still do.

;)

That is how I found the DIS! I was looking for info on AKL and after many twist turns and links I clicked on I wound up here.

Does anyone know if the slides have been installed yet? If they have what type of slide are we talking about? I hope not the kind you have at home (narrow and short). We are thinking about going here instead of the Poly (gasp)!! But if the slides are not great we will spend the extra.

Just got back from the CBR last night. The Main Pool is not affected yet. They had a section of the beach blocked off near the pool...it was on the Trinidad North side of Old Port Royale. Every morning we walked through the pool area to get to breakfast. The Barbados and Jamaca pools didn't have any construction yet either.

Still have no clue what they are doing. I hope that it is something significant to have the rehab be several months long. I'm hoping to have a zero depth entry pool like the deluxe resorts! I love just being able to walk right in or sit in shallow water with my baby.
