So when is this all supposed to be over? We are arriving Dec. 9th and staying in the preferred section. I don't want half the beach blocked off when we are there.

There are 2 preferred location sections. They are Trinidad North and half of Martinique.

It sounds like the only beach affected is (part of) Old Port Royale's beach, from what I've read here. Trinidad North has its own beach, as does Martinique. So even if OPR's beach didn't exist, there would still be a beach at your village.

Cleve Rocks is correct. The only beach that is closed is the small one near the pool. It is where the volleyball court was.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't get the search function to work. What size is the coffee pot in the rooms?? I am bringing my own coffee and I need to know what size coffee filters to bring.

Thanks!!!

The little basket type ones. I think I read that it's a 4 cup hotel type coffee pot. We're doing the same thing.

Yes, it is a 4 cup. Bring something to clean it out good, because they are in good need of that at CBR.

Spent the day yesterday at the feature pool and there is construction going on behind the Banana Cabana. Sawing and hammering were constant distraction. Peeking behind the barrier it looks they are building forms for concrete.

Another surprise is that due to the construction the water level has been reduced in the lakes (although I couldn't tell). Because of this the watercraft are limited to the one lagoon by OPR. Rental fees are cut in half but I didn't see any takers. I was looking forward to doing this with the kids but didn't think going in circles would be much fun under the circumstances.

I'm getting concerned with the construction. I thought it was not to start until January. Will this put a damper on our time spent at CBR?

I don't think it will put a damper on your vacation. The construction work is behind a screen so other than noise it should be ok. This is preliminary work.

Is the Banana Cabana still open??

Well now, noise is my concern. We have a preferred room booked and we have a couple of late nights scheduled. I have a DD with ADHD and a mid day nap on my late nights is absolutely imperative. Is one section of preferred rooms going to be more desireable. I leave in just about 2 weeks and if I need to make a request I will have to get my AAA TA to do it on Monday (she is off for the holiday). Thanks for any help.

It's hard to say which preferred would be better because the construction is between both of them.

We stay preferred in Martinique and weren't bothered by the noise. I will try to go over to CBR the first part of the week to see what is going on and the noise level.

Just in case you think 50 feet or so will matter, request Martinique 24 or Trinidad North 33, the farthest away of the preferred location buildings.

Ok, this is my final question before I leave in less than 48 hours.......

are there any flavored creamers in the food court?

I was there in Oct. and there were none at the food court.
Personally, because I'm spoiled to having french vanilla creamer for my coffee, I put as many as I could in small empty plastic coffee can, but any travel size crush proof container would do.
Now if you are happy with the powered kind, you wouldn't have to worry about having it spill out inside your luggage. Either way, I would highly recommend that you bring you own for safe keeping.
Hope you have as great a time there as we did!

Just wondering -- any construction updates as to what is going on???
