Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Are most of the connecting rooms available going to be doubles in both rooms? Or, is there a chance we'll get a king room and a doubles room? We've paid for preferred location, water view. I'm hoping for Martinique.

My hope is that DH and I can have the king room with DD, and my mom can take the doubles. I can't imagine where we'd fit a pack and play in a room with the 2 beds.

When we do get there set up the PnP, I'm definitely going to post pics of it in the room! That's a photo I know I'd love to see, and I can't find one anywhere.

If you want a king bed room that is a bookable category. The chances of getting a king bed as a request is slim but it could happen.

What does the CBR refillable mug look like? I got one at Pop last year and I use it all the time at home. The one I got is blue with Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale on one side and Donald, Daisy, Goofy & Pluto on the other side. Hoping moderates offer a different one - or that they have updated the mug since we were there.

Also - what can you refill with? I know coffee & soda, but what about juice - specifically orange and/or apple. Wondering about the mugs for the kids... or if we should just purchase their juice before we check-in to keep in our room fridge. Thanks!

My CBR mug that I bought back in 2004 has Mickey and Goofy sleeping on hammocks. The mug has a lime green top and handle. But like I say this was back in 2004, as I thought now the resorts are using the YOAMD mugs. All the same, in other words.

My mug from last week had a winter theme. It has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and I think Pluto or Goofy or both. I wish I had it in the house to look at. It was white with various shades of blue and dots that look like snowflakes. The characters are dressed in winter clothes that remind me of A Christmas Carol, but all whites and blues. There is even a lampost in the background.

The handle on mine is black but the lid is blue and that drives my OCD side, nuts. I noticed later that some handles were blue, gray, or black. I guess that could help a bigger group tell their cups apart.

Personally, I think that they will keep selling those cups at most resorts until they are all gone. They are trying to save money and be more friendly to the environment. That will fit both bills.

Also, all the cups and napkins in the restaraunts were still Christmas themed. I'm guessing the same things played into that.

I'll be interested to see what mug designs emerge after all those are gone. I'll be back in September. I like the current one, but I want to see a fun new design.

I was told by a CM that there's a boat that takes you to the MK? Is this correct? He didn't sound so sure when I asked him later in the conversation. Thanks in advance.

No, that's very incorrect. No boat transportation from CBR to anywhere.

CBR has a marina with boat rentals, but it's purely recreational ... you can't leave the CBR property.

So, just put this on the long list of wrong information given to guests by CMs.

Really strange question but are any of the bed linens, pillows, etc down. My DH is super allergic to down so we'd have to ask that any of that isn't present when we check in.

Thanks.

I just upgraded yesterday to CBR from the All Star Sports. The only room available was a king and I really needed two doubles. A few posters on the board suggest that I go ahead and take the king and just get a roll away bed. I called in guest reservations and changed it but they told me that I could not have a roll away bed in the king room because it would not fit. Also, does anyone know why a king room cost more than a standard? Finally, is there anywhere that I can find actual pictures of what the king room looks like? I am contemplating canceling this now because I really need two beds. Thanks for any help.

If you have more than 2 people they will not allow it in a king bed room. I would keep calling and see if a 2 bed room opens.

Disney knows they can charge more for a king bed room so they do.

In my siggie is the link to my TR....in post #2 I have links to pictures of my King room at CBR from October 2008. Have you considered staying at CSR? Their rooms are 2 queen beds (of course they have kings too).

I checked CSR and they are only offering a king too. There is only two of us (myself & 9 year old) but I just cannot sleep in the same bed as him as he is a kicker. I am bummed now and hate to have to cancel but I only have until Feb 10 before they started charging cancellation penalties.

The pirate rooms were slated to open yesterday. So I'm sure within this week we will get some reports from people who got to stay in one.

Hooray!!!:cool1: Can't wait to see what these rooms are really like and how it is to stay there! Bring on the reviews from our fellow pirates
