:santa: MERRY CHRISTMAS CBR FRIENDS!! :santa:

Hope everyone is having a blessed Christmas day.

This morning we surprised our kids with a trip to WDW and their favorite resort - CBR!! We leave in just 26 days! :cool1:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2037004

That's terrific! I checked out your thread and the Christmas photos -- sounds like a great morning! Have a great trip -- I know how much you like CBR from your posts.... hope it's even better this time!!:thumbsup2

Just booked for 2009!! It will be our first stay at CBR!! December 5th-12th!
I'm so excited and it seems like so far away!!!!!!!

I'm going to have to go back and really read this whole thread and try to
learn as much as possible about this beautiful resort.

We booked a preferred location, since we like to get the refillable mugs and want to be close to the food court!

Congratulations! You sound like us -- we love being close to the food court too, but the whole resort is great and beautiful!

Have a great time reading this thread -- Safetymom does an amazing job keeping it all current!!!:thumbsup2

The first post of this FAQ contains most of the information you will need for a stay at CBR. By posting here you will get the answers from many CBR veterans.

As an alternative, you could also check this thread, which has all of the important info. in one post.
SInce you keep touting that one post in that thread, I find it disappointing that you haven't corrected or changed the few things that were pointed out to you later in that thread. If you are going to tout it as one-stop shopping for accurate information about CBR, it really should be 100% accurate information.

I have read the information you posed as "correct" and am in the process of evaluating all of it.

As I'm sure everyone can understand, I am enjoying my family this holiday season and have not had as much time as others may to work on my thread.

Thank you for your opinions.

I agree! If you have any questions, whatsoever, about the CBR, you will find that it's posted here on this thread. Even if the question has been asked before, somebody will be glad to answer the question.

I agree! If you start a thread such a the one that disney_mommy did, then you must be fully committed to keeping it correct and updated.

We understand, we really do. But, I think the reason some may be upset is the fact that the CBR thread really does have all the information anyone could look for.

I couldn't agree more with Safetymom, Mickeystoontown and CleveRocks! The value of this FAQ thread for me is that I get the collective wisdom of their experiences there, along with hundreds of others! Yeah, it may take a long time to read the whole thread, but basic information is all found in the first few posts, and I enjoy reading through all the others!:thumbsup2

CBR is a great resort, and I'm glad there are so many people who enjoy it as much as I do!!

I can assure you I am committed to keeping it correct. CleveRocks gave his opinions on my thread on Christmas Eve. As it is only the day after Christmas, I believe I am allowed a little time to spend with my family before I make any changes to my post. Rest assured I am looking into it.

As I said in the very beginning of my first post:

I also want to add that my posting this is in no way meant as an insult that anyone else's thread/post is not good enough. I'm just creating a post that I wish I had been able to see during my planning stages.

I am upset at the way this whole thing has played out. Like I said in my post, I only created that thread to help someone who may have been looking for the same thing I was. I never meant to imply that this thread wasn't good, which I also stated in that post.

I am under the impression that the DIS is an open forum where anyone may post anything they want. If that's not true and there is only allowed to be one CBR thread, then please point it out to me and I will discontinue my thread. Otherwise, just stick to the thread you like and in, the interest of the DIS spirit, don't feel like you must insult me for doing something I am enjoying.

This is the last time I am going to reply as I don't get into arguing on the boards. It is a public forum and everyone's opinions are welcome.

Me, along with several others on this thread, have stated that the CBR thread has tons of information. I, personally, did not say that your thread was not allowed nor did I point out any mistakes that you had made. I know it's the holidays and everyone wants to spend time with their family. I even posted that earlier.

I have not, in any way, said that you were disrespecting anyone by starting the other thread. I now feel as if you are pointing a finger directly at me and saying I am insulting you which I have not done.

Okay, I'm done. Back to vacation planning!

I sincerely hope you're not taking personally anything that I've said. I view things exactly as you do ... we both want people to have the most accurate information so they can plan a great vacation. I never construed offering correct information as an insult in any way. For me, it's all about the information, and not at all about the person behind the information (myself included).

I'm also not sure how facts can be construed as "opinions" ... that is sort of insulting to me, isn't it? I'm not giving my opinion on which is the best village or whether or not it's worth it to pay for a water view room ... I offered only dead-solid facts.

We are going to CBR on Feb 5. Ihave a question...we booked a room with an airline employee discount so there was no mention of preferred room locations. Which building should we request that would be the closest to the food court? Since we're not getting a preferred room, I would need to know which is closest out of the regular buildings. Also, hubby and I are smokers, are the smoking areas pretty close by the buildings?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a link to a map of CBR: http://allears.net/acc/cbrmap2.jpg

The food court is located inside the building at Old Port Royale, which is "B" on the map. Buildings 24-25-26 (in Martinique) and Buildings 31-32-33 (in Trinidad North) are the preferred location rooms. Since you won't be eligible for those, the closest buildings to Old Port Royale are Aruba 51 and Jamaica 45, which are directly across the bridge over the lake. Martinique 22 wouldn't be a bad choice earlier, but assuming it's the same distance from OPR as the other 2 I mentioned, people tend to prefer the other two because it's a pretty walk across the bridge (not that the walk on the Promenade along the lake shore isn't pretty, either).

I'm not up-to-speed with the locations of the designated smoking areas, but I understand they are relatively numerous.
