Just back from 8 nights at CBR. :guilty:
The new pool looks fantastic! The resort was great again. I miss it allready. They had me in Trinidad South 39 at first. :headache: I asked for another location and ended up in Barbados 14. Right across the street from Customs House. The walk to OPR was ok. The bus stop was pretty much right there! I like the new rooms, the decor is pretty and I really liked the beds!
I tried Shutters for the first time and was really pleased! Marvin was my waiter and he was great. I had the prime rib, YUMMY!
Can't wait till next year!
Oh!!it was great meeting Safetymom! :wave2:

I've just got back today. There was no business center in the resort. The resort looked nice. My kids preferred Nickelodeon Hotel because they had their own room. :)

Hi there,
I just wonder if there is a business center( room with computer/internet access and printer) in CBR?
Thanks.
Lynn.

If you go to the concierge desk at OPR they will print your boarding pass if that is what you are trying to do.

Ok, I'm kind of thinking I don't like the Pirate Theme rooms. It looks so dark and 1970'ish. I think I'm going to see if I can change to a preferred room.

We noticed a funny smell in my mom's room when we were there last week. We had connecting rooms with them and the smell was right near the connecting door. This was in building 33.
We were in Jamaica 41 last week and it was strange smelling in both of our rooms. Damp and moldy smelling. We asked to change rooms but there were none available. They used some sort of deodorizer, and it smelled better briefly but came back. Wish I had requested one of the renovated villages as opposed to Jamaica. My parents waited for a bus for 50 minutes last Saturday morning to get to Epcot.

I love the idea of the Pirate themed rooms, and so far plan on reserving for Fall trip. I do wonder if they really did enough to be able to charge extra. If you look at the Pirate rooms and the Nemo rooms, not a huge difference, I guess. 2 beds, colors are different, a few different decorations etc. Is it really enough to charge more for? They're not in a great location either :confused3 . I can't wait to start hearing first hand reports once they are finished.
It's possible that the couple of pics we've seen here, are not showing all the great pirate touches. pirate:

I was in Bldg 41 last week, and our room was musty too. I believe that they had just shampooed the rug. With the temps being a little cool, the AC wasn't drying it very well. More than once, I saw housekeeping roaming around with a carpet shampooing machine, and a list.............kind of strange, seeing that they were getting ready to rehab the bldg.

Everyone's gonna have an opinion about the new rooms. I just love that we have options. How cool to sleep in a pirate ship. My kids will love it too.

I am in Aruba 51 as I type this (and paying way too much for 24 hours of Internet service) and we have a Nemo room. The location is great, as I requested this building when I made our reservation. I also got the courtyard view I asked for instead of the parking lot. :goodvibes We're upstairs and if we go outside, we can see the Epcot fireworks from right outside. Pretty cool.

The only thing that makes a Nemo room that theme is wall paper border and the bedspread. The extra price for a pirate room is pure supply and demand.

I think the pirate rooms look great! My kids would be on cloud 9 if they were able to stay in a room like that! pirate:

Too bad we weren't able to book one. They are set to open later in the week after our arrival.

I like the new pirate rooms!!
Finally a Real Picture of what they will look like.
They look better than I thought they would.
We're stayinig in the Pirate rooms in Sept.
I can't wait!!!pirate:
They look so fun!!!

I like them alot too. I thought they were going to be much darker then this picture shows. We are hoping to stay in a Nemo room this time and maybe on our next CBR trip we will stay in one of those rooms.

Does anyone have a pic of the Soda area and which Sodas are on the station? If someone is going soon could they take a pic for me?

Safetymom~~ Do you have any idea if the pool refurb in Barbados is coming along on schedule? We'll be there on Sat. and requested Barbados. TIA!:goodvibes
