Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

So I booked a stay at CBR, two rooms, I requested "preferred" rooms and I was told I could have them for an extra cost. I said that that was fine. When my email confirmation came the rooms are labeled "CARIBBEAN BEACH-WATER VIEW". I didn't believe that these we really preferred rooms, so I called. The CM stated that they were in fact preferred and would be close to Centertown/Old Port Royele.

Are these really preferred? Do you pay extra for non-preferred water view rooms?

I also wanted 'preferred room' and was giving a 'water view' when I called back I was told it was a upgrade in cost, but, water view was not the same as preferred :confused3, although a preferred room can also be a water view, so, I canceled and just went with a standard room. I don't mind paying extra for a preferred room, but, not a water view only room.

we are also staying in a preferred room at CBR, I requested water view if available ... so yes, according to the rep I spoke to it is possible to have water view with a preferred room. My main concern was the location, I don't really care about the water view so I didn't make a big deal about the request.

Yes, you do pay extra for non-preferred water view rooms. If your confirmation says Water View, then that is what you have. You may get lucky and get a water view room in one of the preferred locations, but that is not a guarantee. I would call back and speak with another CM to see if you can change it to a preferred room if that is what you want.

who me?,

Does your reservation actually say "PREFERRED"?

hi - no it does not, but I have only received an invoice thus far (no additional confirmation of any kind) ... because it was not noted on the invoice I called to be sure we are in the preferred section which we are.

I have also called a few times since for dining reservations and to book the Halloween party, each time they have reviewed the reservation from top to bottom including that we are in a preferred room.

If you call them back and mention that the preferred location is your priority I am sure they will confirm or change to meet your needs. I hope this helps.

Has everyone seen this?

Overall I think its really cool, and we would definitely change our location for this...but I think the privacy curtain would freak my kids out. Everything else can stay haha..

I booked a Pirate room for our trip next Oct and I know that my girls and DH will love it!! I did not tell them that I booked it, they think we are getting a Nemo room!pirate:

I was told there wasn't any more preferred rooms on the dates we are traveling Oct 20-24, but, there are 'water view' rooms, I'm just staying w/the standard, hopefully in Aruba or Jamaica bldgs.

Here are the first of my pictures: panoramas of the pool taken on the 14th. Since these pictures were taken the painting was completed of the slide structure and the scaffolding was taken down. You can see the hot tub and zero-depth entry in the last two panoramas.

Love the pool pictures, thanks for posting them!!! Now I know I can't wait to be there.

Yes, this looks so cool! :cool1:

I think it was very smart of Disney to take a location that people really didn't want to stay in (Trinidad South) and create a demand for it. :goodvibes

I agree. CBR has so many kewl possibilities...definitely was ready for a little imagineering..pixiedust:

...(that said - hopefully not too much tho!)

I will be there in december, king bed, water view. Looking forward to sitting on the beach having a morning cup of tea. :goodvibes

I have tried looking for the answer, but have found nothing. I should have just come here first, where the experts reside...

Does anyone know how many feet long the pool slide is? Does it appear to have increased during the rehab?

Thank you so much!

the pool looks so cool! we are staying sept 7th, leaving on the 13th. i really really really really REALLY hope we get a chance to use it at least once during that stay!:goodvibes

Might be kind of cool.........long as its not really "tacky".
I'm sure Disney will make it awesome. The drawing is kind of weird though.
Time will tell, we need to see actual photos of an officially done room.
