You want connecting rooms if you want the door between the rooms. Yes they have them at CBR.

You should call Disney and have them do a "travel with" on both rooms. Ask for it exactly that way. They will know what to do.

3 of the buildings are preferred costing extra nightly at Martinique. If you really want Martinique I would pay for the preferred location. That would be one less request.

Then just add your request for a ground floor room connecting to the second room.

From the Jim Hill photo it looks like there may be a bit less drawer space - especially if half is actually a cabinet for a fridge......

Jim Hill did update it.

It now says:



... and their fridges will be stashed away in brand-new cabinets. A new armoir, two chairs and a shower curtain will be added to each unit. Not to mention removing all of the bedframes and then replacing them with bed boxes).

Per Jim Hill's article, I just did a check on e-bay under the seller "Dizzimouse" and there are a couple of armoires with tv included, and a couple of chairs from the CBR up for sale. I think there might have been a fridge too!! It indicates that he has bed frames and comforters and other things available also. It's kind of sad!!

I know I should be asleep, but I just got back from picking up my son from the train station (home from summer classes at college for a couple of days) and I'm wide awake. Plus my daughter went to the midnight showing of Dark Knight with all of her marching band friends so I figured I would stay up until she gets home!!

That is sad, really....but the thought of buying a comforter so old and worn...and used by so many guests...well....but I'd sure like one of those shower curtains!! Guess I'll have to have a look - thanks!

When I saw your post and the time, I was amazed you were still up....those days are over for me...but my DD and Dsil is/are about to have a baby (1st grandbaby!) and I live with them, so maybe those late nights are about to happen again....sorry for the off topic digression

I still cannot quite grasp the refurb is Nemo themed...what were/are they thinking? The name of the Resort is the Caribbean Beach Resort - do they really think guests won't notice?? Or care?

As much as I've enjoyed Disney (since my first visit to DL in 1958) I am disappointed with many of the changes, additions etc over the last few years. Although they say it's about the guest, it does not much seem that way anymore.

This past December I booked two preferred rooms - one for my husband and I and one for my parents. I did not request a particular village, but I did ask for connecting rooms and got them. Also asked for first floor since my mom uses a rollator and got that too. I did tell them that my mom was disabled. It worked out very nice.

Please be sure to ask for your reservation to be handled by Special Needs (they do not make the actual reservation, that's why the CM must contact them when you are booking) - the CM will contact special needs while they have you on hold - ask for special needs to call you about your request so you can speak with someone personally. They are WONDERFUL and will make sure your mother's needs are met, therefore the family as well.

If the CM does not understand and does not call special needs, hang up and try again until you get one who does. Sometimes newer CM's do not know how to do this, but they are supposed to contact special needs while on the phone with you. If they do not contact special needs for you at the time of booking, please pm me after you book and I will give you the direct number so you can speak with them directly.

A little tip - no matter how nice a CM may be, they cannot guarantee your needs - only special needs can guarantee your special needs are met. It's possible the CM you spoke with last night did send the reservation to special needs - you can call and ask.

So, if you want to be sure, just ask CRO to have special needs take care of your requests - it's very simple, I promise!

we had to throw the resi details together kinda hurridly at the end of the call because it was 10:22pm and we were about to get cut off by the phone system (stops allowing calls to go on hold after a certain time), so we just got the rooms on curtosy hold in the right names... CM is call ME back today to finish it up! When she calls Ill ask for the special needs transfer!

Hi….as Pleasure Island is going to be closed during our visit, we’re looking for other night time activities. Some where in the recesses of my mind I remember people mentioning a man that preformed at a lounge in the Caribbean resort. Tropical theme...dont they have colorful fish in the carribbean??!

The bench is still in the new rooms. Lights look the same. The entire 24 building is now Nemo themed. That is the only one they are working on.

Technically speaking Nemo swims in a different ocean, (Caribbean = North Atlantic; Nemo = South Pacific) but I'm with you, colorful fish + the CBR isn't really THAT much of a strecth.

Plus, Disney can get creative with continuity, if they feel the need, and give this latest Rehab a backstory. Nemo and friends travelled halfway around the world to the Caribbean Sea for a summer vacation, or to find pirate treasure, or something... I'm not an imagineer.

What throws me with the Nemo theme is the new, yet to open, Pirate theme pool - how does that go with Nemo? Our last trip in Dec. '06, the gift area was full of pirate decorations.

Not that I want a pirate theme in the room either. I prefer the bright colors.

What is the longest the resort would hold ordered goods for ? I want to order something to be delivered to my room but it might arrive a week before i do.
