The preferred locations are in Martinique and Trinidad North. There is a bus stop for every village so you should never be far from a bus stop.

I am a little slow so I need help :goodvibes We are staying at the CBR in February 2209 and I am so glad to know that it doesn't have an elevator, so I will request a first floor room because we are taking a 28 month old...that being said we definitively will get a preferred room but where should I request to be the closest to the food court and bus stop or is that too much to ask for....have read through the posts and I think Jamaica???????????We have stayed three times at the pop but this is our first time at the CBR

No worries -- if you pay for a preferred room, you will be in Martinique 24, 25, or 26 or Trinidad North 31, 32, or 33. Preferred means you are closest to the food court and main pool area at Old Port Royale.

As for the bus stops, none of the rooms are that far from a bus stop -- there are bus stops at Martinique, Old Port Royale, and at Trinidad North, in addition to the other villages, so you should have a short walk from your preferred room. Just request the first floor room and have them note "why" you need it. Have fun at CBR!!:cool1:

Wow, now that's what I call planning ahead of time.... 200 years ahead of time! :rotfl:

I may be wrong, but I thought preferred rooms were the ones in Trinidad North and Martinique closest to OPR. I had always thought king rooms were in the 'preferred' status as well, but maybe they are called differently.

That said, Jamaica is good for being close to food court and its bus stop. I have only ever stayed in Aruba building 51 and while it is close to OPR, it is about a 5 minute walk to its bus stop (although I did find that the Jamaica stop may be a bit shorter).

That also being said, I would think by 2209 they will have hover craft raise people to the second floor instead of taking the stairs (not that it would matter anyway - your 28 month old should be walking by then). And they will probably have robotic room service of anything you want from the food court via a holographic display of OPR through your 3-d glasses so room location is now a moot point...............................:lmao:

Thanks for all the help....this has been a wonderful tool...sorry I meant to say 2009... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I believe in planning ahead but that is even too far ahead for me:scared1:

That's great!:thumbsup2

JUST planned last minutes trip and updated to CBR this morning! Very psyched---sounds like, other thatn the preferred rooms, you can hardly go wrong w/ any room there(unlses you can not do those stairs and unless you do not like that far away Trinidad bldg. I saw a post and still was unsure---sounds like you can see the Iluminations fireworks from many areas of the resort---but again am hoping to find out which bldgs provide views of Spaceship Earth---any help on this would be terrific!

TKS safetymom and others! :woohoo:

I can never remember how WDW is oriented in terms of the compass, but if you stand in front of Old Port Royale and look over the lagoon and over the Aruba village, you can see the higher Illuminations fireworks. We've watched the fireworks many times while enjoying a snack or drink at the tables outside Old Port Royale. The outside second floor walkways in the Jamaica and Aruba buildings that face the road also provide a good view.

My family and I are heading to CBR this Friday. The travel agent booked us a waterview room, is this the same as preferred?

Waterview can be anywhere in the resort. Preferred is certain building. If waterview isn't that important I would ask for preferred when I got there. The price would be the same.

I don't think that waterview is worth the money personally.

Yipppeeeeeee:cool1:
We are now booked for June 14 thru the 22 at CBR. I did remember reading that there were no elevators and my dd 3 is in a wheelchair so I did request a room on the 1st floor. I am just so happy to be staying there. I have always wanted to stay there but a better offer always came up for another resort. My dd 11 loves CSR and I hope she loves CBR as much. I will be reading this thread for the next month daily. :dance3: :cool1: :thumbsup2

We are book for CBR check in on Aug. 28 and check out on Sept. 3. We are hoping for a sooner finish of the new pool. You got any hope for us on that. Also any one with any good info or tips for CBR. We would love to have them. This is our first time to stay on property.

If we don't have a season of hurricanes probably the pool will be done on time or early. I sure they built a cushion into the schedule. You might want to start with the first several posts in this thread for information on the resort.

Welcome to the DIS.

We just returned from an 11 night stay at CBR -- it was a wonderful stay and we have no complaints. The room was clean and mousekeeping was wonderful. We did miss the main pool being opened but did enjoy our village pool on various occasions and instead went to Typhoon Lagoon for 2 days. CBR is such a beautiful and relaxing resort. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. This is our third stay at CBR and we have also stayed at YC, BC, Poly, POR, and WL. CBR ranks very high on our list!!! Love the tropical and bright atmosphere!! So, to all you undecided ones, give CBR a try -- you will not be disappointed.

hi, i am from the uk and will be staying at the cbr last week of aug and first week of september, loving this thread. i know you can hire beach towels from the waterparks, and that resorts supply free towels for the pools, are cbr still supplying these even though the main pool is closed. this would allow us to to save room in our cases for all those goodies we will want to bring home.

thanx andrea :flower3:

They sure do. We actually took the CBR pool towels to Typhoon Lagoon and then returned them to the recepticle in the pool area when we came back.

can someone answer a few bus questions for me??
what hours do they run?
how long does it take to get to the parks?
can I take my stroller on the bus?
Thanks!

The busses start running very early in the morning. I know that people have caught busses to go to 7:00am ADRs, so that tells me that they run early. The longest bus ride I had was to DTD and it was about 20 minutes. Most were only about 10 - 15 minute rides to any park. And yes, you can take your stroller on the busses, but I think you have to fold them.

Have to say I am loving this thread ever since I found out we are coming to CBR in 2 weeks and 2 days--YEAH!!!!! QUESTION: Where are the best picture spots at CBR? The lighthosue is obvious---but...are there other really great spots to look for?

Poll in a way---whci building should I ask for? I am really just letting the fates take me where ever, but just in case I get the farthest room on the 2nd floor of Trinidad, I'd like to maybe ask for something that's les of a hike.

Also for the poster who went to TL for two days---you had to pay extra for that, right? This wasn't just offered as a replacement for the closed pool? It's YOMD, so I can dream, can't I? Would LOVE TL tickets----last year swam w the sharks---a LASTING memory!:wizard:
