Thanks for the info Cleverocks.....since you are downbeach am I guessing you are in Lucy's town?
It's either Lucy's town ... or the town with the smiley-face water tower ... or the town that shares the Boardwalk with A.C. :beach: :beach: :beach: :boat:

I have no idea what you like, so I have no idea which you'd like better.

I can tell you this much (and overall, it seems that most DISers feel this way) ... In my opinion, paying for water view at any of the 4 WDW Moderate resorts isn't worth the money.

I don't want to compare the resorts to a motel, but they are built in that very general style, meaning that your door and window(s) open onto exterior corridors. Therefore, in between you and anything you have a view of, is the walkway where people walk to get to and from their rooms. In other words, if you have your curtains wide open to enjoy the view, then everyone walking by has a great view of YOU! That being said, there is a vocal minority who LOVE water view rooms at CBR the other Mods.

If you decide to switch to a preferred location room, do it ASAP ... those rooms can sell out during busier times.

Thanks so much! It sounds as though I would be happier with a preferred so I am putting in a prompt call.

I am all for convenience!

Thanks again :-)
Debbie

Call to see if preferred was available but NOPE....

That's ok.... we will be happy wherever we end up! Hey... we are at Disney :cool1:

Sorry everyone---I was rather confused! I knew I wanted to stay at CSR, but when I called I said CBR! Which would explain the problem I was having. I realized my mistake after posting my question, called to fix my ressie (am now booked for CSR--requesting Cabana 9b), and am back to explain my blonde moment. (I'm blonde, so I can say that!) Thanks for you help, and sorry for hijacking your thread! Better head to the CSR thread now!! :goodvibes

Glad you figured it out! :thumbsup2 Gave me a bit of a laugh though. You'd love the CBR too! It is very fabulous!:lovestruc

Safetymom: thanks for the photos! You are such the super spy looking thru the little construction hole! :3dglasses Thank you!!!!!!:worship:

Is there a fitness center at CBR or is that only at Deluxe?

Like the previous poster said, there is no fitness center at the CBR but I've seen many guests jogging/running around the resort promenade. I like to get up in the morning and walk a bit before hitting the parks. The walk around the promenade is beautiful.

:goodvibes Thank you for answering my questions, I feel better about my son's choice.

I liked the new pool pictures.

Hi Everyone,

Just switched today from the Dolphin to CBR!!! I just couldn't justify staying there w/o the dining plan & ME. We are going in November & I CAN'T WAIT!!

My dh stayed here on our honeymoon in June of 1994 but for the life of me, I can't remember what building we were in!!!

From reading thru this whole thread I am thinking Jamaica. We booked non-perferred, we want to be close to the pool & food court. Am I right to think Jamaica fits that description? If not I would love some suggestions.

TIA!!

I think Jamaica would be a great choice. You'll love the walk across the bridge. :goodvibes

Jamaica and Aruba are mirror images of each other. Request "Aruba or Jamaica" and you'll double your chances of getting what you want.

Subscribing. Great Thread! Will be at CBR Dec. 5-14 2008. First Christmas at Disney! First Stay at a Moderate! :cool1:

Read about the outdoor movies. Great idea! Anyone know if it will continue after the pool construction is complete?

They didn't have them before the pool work so I doubt they will continue. But I could be wrong.

Very Good advice, I will definitely do this!!

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I just got home form work & I haven't stopped thinking about my trip all day. It has been 14 years since we have been to CBR, I can't wait to see it again.

It will be my kids first time there & I know they will LOVE the new pool!!!!

I was afraid you were going to say that! We'll just have to stick to our plan to catch a movie at Ft. Wilderness. Thanks for the reply and for the great pics of the pool construction!

Quick question. I was pretty sure that all of the rooms at CBR were refurbished (I forget when) but someone was telling me that they think only some buildings were. Is that true? I was pretty sure they were all refurbed at the same time.

I can't say that I know when the actual rooms were refurbished but I know all the mattreses were replaced in June, 2006. They were making the changes when we were there.
