We just got back last night and we were in Jamaica 44. The quiet Pool in Jamaica was closed for refurbishment. But I believe it's scheduled to reopen sometime this month. But the walk to the main pool was only about 5-10 minutes. We loved Jamaica. It was really quiet. I will write more later after I get the laundry going!

I was at CBR 10/20 - 10/28 and the whole week the main pool heater wasn't working. We never got to swim in in because it was too cold!! But we did use the hot tub & swam at our private pool in Trinadad North!

Bummer It was for sure working this past Monday.

We were there 10/28-10/25, and I don't think it was working then either. The water was positively FRIGID! I couldn't believe that there were people in there. I dipped my tootsies in there and made a beeline back to the room!

My DS is a huge pirate fanatic, and I was considering booking CBR in June (a pirate room, of course!) I've never been there. In all the guide books, CBR has a low quality and satisfaction rating, however most people on this board seem to like it. Why the negativity in other places? Is there something I should know about? We are driving our car, so buses aren't an issue. My other option is POFQ. What do you think? Thanks.

We just got back. We liked it. It was our first trip to WDW, so our first experience with CBR. We would stay there again. The only thing we would do differently is schedule at least 1 day to explore all of the resort. We mainly slept, showered and back to one of the parks. I would have loved to curl up in a hammock and read a book. DD and DH went to the new pool and LOVED it.

DD went swimming on 10/20 and it was COLD!!!!I like my pool to be as warm as a bath..I was not expecting that at CBR, but now I know that when we go back the pool should be warmer. YIPPY!! Thanks for the info.

We are going in March for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend. I've booked our package through the Disney Sports folks.

Eventhough I would have paid extra for the Preferred location, they did not any available for booking as Disney only "released" standard rooms to them.

I have two rooms booked as there are 4 of us girls going for a "girl's weekend." I asked if I could request connecting rooms and woman told me no, it's only for family. She said she would link the two ressies together to make sure we were close though.

Now...with all that said. Can I call Disney direct to request a specific "standard" building or should I fax? I'm not sure what to do.

I'd like to be close to the main building and also have at least adjoining rooms if not connecting...

Suggestions?

I will be staying here in March. I just upgraded from POP to here with the new promo they are running. I didn't get the pirate room. ONly a standard room was left but I snagged it. We are very excited! Looks like a beautiful resort!

I just booked CBR with the new offer for June 20-27.
I asked for Aruba building 51. The CM charged me preferred room rate, I thought only Martinique and Trinidad North were charged the preferred rate? Are they charging more because the rooms have been "updated"?

Since all the rooms are getting updated, I doubt that's the case. Only three of the Martinique buildings and three of the Trinidad North rooms are preferred. Call back and ask to speak to someone else. I don't know how they could've charged you for preferred in Aruba, but maybe they charged you for water view?

yaaa!!! I am so excited! thanks to the new promo disney is running we are booked 3/21-3/29 I was able to book a pirate water view room online just awhile ago! Now I just need to tell Dh about the trip I was planning on going next October but sooner is better!~ Now can anyone tell me about crowds in late March?

Aside from the Pirate rooms, CBR has only 3 "upgrade" categories: king-size bed, water view, and preferred location. Each has the identical extra cost.

Check your reservation to see which one it is, because it surely is one of those.

If it was booked this way and you didn't know about it and you don't approve of it, call back! It's also possible that, for example, water view was the only room category available with that code for your dates ... if that's the case, better to pay the extra per night than not get the room at all, eh?

At CBR, the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale (site of the food court, shops, etc.) are in a separate room category called "preferred location" and must be specifically reserved ... this costs extra per night.

These buildings are three of Martinique's six buildings (24-25-26) and all three of Trinidad North's buildings (31-32-33).

Each village has its own bus stop, so there's no such thing as a room that is very far from a bus stop.

If you won't have a car, and if you're not willing to pay extra for a preferred location room, and if your mother really can't walk long distances, you need to either rent a scooter/wheelchair or find another resort ... CBR is a vast resort, very spread out, and not somewhere where you can guarantee you won't have long walks unless you pay extra to reserve a preferred location room (and even then, you still might not be so close ... from my room in Trinidad North building 33 it was about a 5 minute walk to the food court).

Hi! I'm excited to be staying at CBR in April! I could only get standard room on the package, although I would have paid for preferred. Just trying to figure out what to request. Jamaica looks pretty good....

I know there is some room refurb going on. Can someone please tell me which have been done, and which may likely be done before April? Thanks!!

I booked our trip with a PIN code. Today I changed dates to fit the new promo, but hopefully someone can help me with the changes that I have made:

I wanted to go 3/14-3/21 but only pirate rooms were available. I asked the CM if I should book and try calling back to see if I can get a regular or Nemo room. She said that would be risky. (I hope that she did not think I meant right then)

So, I booked 3/16-3/23, not exactly what days I wanted due to DD's school, but it is what it is.

Has anyone had luck with calling back once a week and getting the "room" or location that they wanted?

ALso, Where are the Piarate rooms located? I liked Martinque when we were there last.

How far are the pirate rooms from OPR? Is it a long walk? I have a regular room booked and was thinking about upgrading.

I believe the pirate rooms will be at Trinidad South, which is the farthest building from OPR.

Any idea which sections have already been refurb?
