Caribbean Beach FAQ part VI

It depends on the time of year and when it gets dark. The movie starts once it's dark and the marshmallow roast starts 90 minutes before the movie. In October, I'm pretty sure the movie started at 8 and the marshmallow roast at 6:30.

Thank you!

We will be staying at CBR for the first time in November with the current FD promotion. The only room availability for our dates was the Pirate rooms. It's just DD and myself and she really likes the look of the rooms and the Caribbean theme.

I love that each village has it's own quiet pool and sandy beach and the zero entry at the main pool. My only concern is the distance of Trinidad South to the main building. I would love to hear advice from anyone that has stayed in Trinidad South. Thanks :goodvibes

We stayed in Trinidad South 2 years ago, mostly because we wanted to give DS something "boyish" amongst all of the princess character meals & autographs we were doing for DD. We loved the rooms!

As far as the walk, it's really not as bad as it seems. DS was 6 and DD 3 at the time (no stroller) and we could do the walk from our room to OPR in about 10 minutes, 15 if we really lingered. It's a beautiful walk along a paved path, and we actually enjoyed the change of pace from the rest of the trip where we were rushing from one thing to another!

Any building recommendations for a large family trip? Standard rooms.

Fil will want to go to food court daily for something hot for breakfast...we will have 6 kids ranging from 3 to 12 so we'd like to be close to bus stop. Our trip is in November so while I think we'll head to the pool some days we probably won't be going daily....

Our favorite is Jamaica 45. Very short stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool. Aruba 51 is also very nice. The great thing about CBR is every village has its own bus stop so no matter where you are, you are never far from one.

First stay at CBR this Dec. wanted PO Riverside but no rooms left there with the free dining. We were told to keep checking back for available rooms. But with these positive things being said about CBR by people who love it, I think we will just let it be and enjoy the anticipation of WDW in Dec!! So excited!

I was in the same situation. I was booked for POR but switched because there was no FD dining rooms available. I've read this entire thread and can't wait to stay at CBR!!! I'm so glad I switched!!! 69 days to go. :cheer2:

As of now, they are full size. Queens are coming when the refurb starts in 2014.

Hello Mickeystoontown ! Do you know what month they will do the refurb ? I have been meaning to ask you how the crowds were your last trip ? That is the week we may go but we have also been thinking of the 3rd week in August. We just cant decided when to go !

I read it starts in April next year ;-)

Okay, so I just got off the phone with my contact at Caribbean Beach. She confirmed, again, that the resort rooms will be undergoing a complete refurb. Also got confirmation that THERE WILL BE QUEEN BEDS in the new rooms! :thumbsup2

As far as the start date, they are still unsure but she is thinking somewhere around beginning of April, possibly earlier. Nothing confirmed though. She did reassure me that they would do their best to keep things nice and quiet so as not to disturb other guests. They will begin with one village and one building, complete it, move on to the next, etc. until it is all done.

Our travel dates are May 24th to June 7th and there is a possibility that we could have one of the new rooms according to the castmember. Woo hoo! :dance3:

Thanks for copying my post Steph. I don't get instant notifications anymore from the Dis and have to rely on checking my subscribed threads to see when someone has posted.
