::yes:: Yes yes that's what has me :scared1: scared silly!!!

I even thought of switching to POFQ :joker: because I just don't care for the Nemo rooms but my kids really want that pirate pool. pirate: And let's face it...none of the pictures of other kiddie pools in moderates seem to even come close to the CBR. So I'll settle for Nemo and at least be able to sleep.

The Nemo theme really isn't that obnoxious. You will like the room, I swear. The pirate pool is awesome!

They're not "Nemo" rooms. These are standard rooms. They are not really Nemo themed. There is a very slight Nemo motif ... a few characters on the bedspreads and a few characters on the wall border around the top of the room. It's very small touches, it's subtle, it's not like you'll feel like Bruce the shark is going to eat you. :3dglasses

Thank you both for your thoughts. We switched to preferred from pirate this morning after my hubby said, "Look, they are not all Nemo rooms. This one looks nice!" (while looking at a "nemo" room). :lmao::rotfl2:

O.k. so maybe I overreacted. Either way it will be a great trip and it's only 10 days away!!!!

Getting ready to book our first trip as a family (have been a ton as a child/teen with my parents). We are probably going to do the CBR as my 5 year old boy is obsessed with pirates!!!

I read the review on the pirate beds and I am starting to change my mind based on the fact that my husband is over 6 foot. However, my question is if we book a pirate room and traveling with my parents, can we get adjoining rooms - one pirate, one preferred/standard? Or do we both have to book the pirate rooms to be close to each other?

Thanks for the tips! :worship:

Welcome to the DIS. There are no standard rooms in Trinidad South. Many has stayed in the Pirate rooms with no problems.

Take this advice with a grain of salt because I have never been. HOWEVER, we did have a pirate room booked before I got scared off.

I have heard (or read here somewhere) that pirate rooms are in Trinidad South and I think that the only rooms in Trinidad South are pirate rooms. There are adjoining pirate rooms but I don't think they adjoin to regular rooms.

Thank you both for your responses. I am not sure I can subject my 70-something year old parents into a pirate themed room in order to be close to us. I think we will stick to the preferred rooms. Thanks!

That's the exact reason we didn't stay in a pirate room last year nor are we staying in one this year. My 77 year old mother is going with us and I don't want her to have to pay the extra money for a pirate room.

haha...yes, just glad I didn't show the room to my 5 year old. Then, Grandma might have had to suck it up! lol....

My mother dotes on my two kids and I know if my son told her he wanted to stay in a pirate room, she'd change her ressie in the blink of an eye. I swear she'll do anything for that boy.:sad2:

My mom is exactly the same way...she will try and talk me into booking the pirate room for him even if she does have to sleep in one as well. I will just have to try and convince her that he will live if he doesn't sleep in a pirate bed!!!! :thumbsup2

We got our Confirmation to CBR and our family hope to stay in Martinique! we are excited! is Martinique is close to the Old Port Royale Centertown?:mickeyjum

Hi Disney Experts - was hoping for a little help. My DH, DD(infant), and I plan to come to CBR in September for his softball tournament that is at ESPN Wide World of Sports. From what I've read, the only way to get there on Disney transportation is to connect at DHS. Is that correct? And if that is correct, has anyone done it and can let me know approximately how long it takes?
TIA! :yay:

Starting about within the last year or so, there are direct buses from CBR and from Pop Century to the ESPN Wide World of Sports. There is also service from DHS to there.

I always request the top floor of a hotel so that we don't hear feet stomping during the night. However, since CBR does not have elevators and we may have a stroller, I think we will request the 1st floor this time. For those of you who have stayed on the first floor, how much do you hear? I know some resorts seem to have paper thin walls/floors so I am wondering??? I've also read about critters getting into the 1st floor rooms and that would totally freak me out. :scared1: How much of a problem is this, really? TIA!!!

I'm reposting this hoping someone will have a suggestion for me. :flower3:

We've stayed there many times and never been able to hear our neighbors. The only time we had a problem with that was at the Pop. Never seen any critters, either. We did have an alligator walk past our doorway at the CSR once! I think critters can be found at most all WDW resorts.

We have stayed on both floors at CBR. I really like the top floor better. It just seems a little more private. Plus, like you said - less worries about critters. (Although we did have a frog in our 2nd floor room at POR!) We did hear some noise from our upstairs neighbors when we stayed on the bottom floor. First there was a woman obviously wearing hard sole shoes when she was getting ready in the mornings, on the tile bathroom floor. Then after she left a family moved in and let their kids run and jump before bedtime. None of it was extremely bothersome. My kids slept though it, but I am a very light sleeper.

There are only 2 floors, so if you do take a stroller and had to lug it upstairs, it's only 1 flight of stairs and there is a big landing in the middle.

Those are just my thoughts! I know lots of people love the first floor.
