I see you have a trip in the future! :cool1: We are finally going again too.

I do! I do!!!! :woohoo: I am so excited about it! This will be our "3rd Times a Charm" trip! ;) I was actually reading over on your PTR yesterday! I'm sure I won't be caught up by the time you go on your trip, but I plan to just pick up with the TR (I am assuming that you are doing one). I love your photography so I can't wait for that! I remember on Tammy's thread a few years ago, you posted the prettiest cow pictures I have ever seen! :lmao: I know that must sound funny to everyone else reading, but seriously, they were awesome! I am a country girl to my core so I could absolutely appreciate those. You could have won a contest with them! :thumbsup2

I see we both skipped out on a 2010 trip. :sad2: But maybe that will make this year even better. This will be the first time we haven't stayed at a value resort. I enjoyed our stays at both ASMo and POP, but I like to try new places, so CBR it is! I think we will love it b/c we are very into the tropical theme. We are vacationing in FL after all!

So far I've read that you are doing a split WDW and DCL trip, is that still right? That sounds great! I am trying to learn all I can about DCL so we can do that maybe next year, so I will be depending on you to give me all the scoop in your TR and take some fabulous pictures! ;)

Thanks. Yes, it might sound crazy to others about the cows....we live on a dairy farm... LOL! Ddi you skip to the page I have listed as the current start of my current trip? LOL! I had really wanted to go last Dec, but it just didn't work out. And then in early March, but Skip had other plans...which are pretty darn good! Yes we are doing DCL and then WDW (1 day at Sea World). I will be writing a TR too. I have been doing so much research and my brain is getting fried. I am also going to become a Disney exclusive TA so I am doing some little online classes through Disney. It's kind of fun. But I am just starting out and learning the ropes. I can't wait to get my Mickey ears graduation cap! :goodvibes Let me know if you have any questions, and I will surely try to help. Hopefully my TR will give a good insight on the cruise.

I always request the top floor of a hotel so that we don't hear feet stomping during the night. However, since CBR does not have elevators and we may have a stroller, I think we will request the 1st floor this time. For those of you who have stayed on the first floor, how much do you hear? I know some resorts seem to have paper thin walls/floors so I am wondering??? I've also read about critters getting into the 1st floor rooms and that would totally freak me out. :scared1: How much of a problem is this, really? TIA!!!

Can any one speak to if at CBR there is an internet cafe, or business center where we can check emails??
TIA

There is no internet cafe or business center at CBR. You would need to go to one of the convention hotels for a business center.

Hi Everyone,

We just booked a spontaneous 4 day trip in May. I've stayed at the CB several times, though only once in the last 10 years. On that trip our son was 3 (and an only child), but we had a rental car and zipped around WDW at our leisure which was nice. This trip will include me, DH, our now 5 year old son and 18 month old twin girls.

So I have a few questions.

Do the beds move? We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside once when my son was little and we were able to push the bed up against the wall and put bed rails on it. My understanding is that the rooms at CBR have all been redone. Will we be able to move the bed against the wall. With TWO pack and plays it would be nice to have some flexibility.

Is the bus route available online? By that I mean what is the order they stop in as they travel through CBR to the parks. I'm guessing I need to either trade off long bus rides or crowded buses upon boarding? I've never minded the buses in the past, but we've never traveled with 3 small kids before.

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm not sure about the beds. They used to move prior to the rehab because we moved ours up against the wall in 2005 when DS was 4. We didn't try to move it the last time we were there after the rehab.

Some of the buses start in Martinique and then go - OPR, T.North, T.South, Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados - out. This was the most common route the last time we were there. We were using the Aruba bus stop that trip, so we were second to last to board the bus when it took this route and we only had to stand one time.

The other route the buses can take start in Jamaica and then go - Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR, T.North, T.South - out.

Hope that helps. :goodvibes

We stayed at CBR for 10 days in Dec. 2008. We were in Martinique 25, facing the lagoon and IMO it was the best location in the place. Right beside the food court, 2 mins to the pool, 2 mins to the bus stop, and the beach out front has a fantastic view of the epcot fireworks every night!!

So is this a preferred or a waterview? I am going to call and upgrade my reservations from standard, and need to know for sure what to ask for? The martinque 25 sounds pretty awesome.
Thanks

Hello All!

We will be at CBR 4/10-4/16. Does CBR post a schedule of daily activities (ie..live band, movie night)?

"Occasionally they have live groups playing in the courtyard at Old Port Royale."

I quoted this from the first page, so apparently there is a live band. Does anyone know how often they play or if they have a schedule?

All of Martinique 25 is preferred location (along with Martinique 24 & 26 and Trinidad North 31-32-33).

Some of the rooms in Martinique 25 face the lake (Barefoot Bay) and therefore are water view.

But you can't book and pay for and thus guarantee a preferred location room with a water view. You can only pay for and reserve and guarantee one or the other. Choose the one you want more and book it, and then request the other.

In other words, getting a preferred location room with a water view is a matter of luck. No way to guarantee it.

During our last stay at CBR we booked a preferred location...not because I wanted to, but because it was all that was available. When we went to check in (before noon btw) we were told that there were no preferred rooms available. I said it was fine and asked to just be refunded the difference between the cost of standard and preferred. I was told they couldn't do that and instead would give us a "water view" as the cost was the same.

A water view is great at POLY or CR or a place with a balcony. We were in a ground floor room where if you opened the door, stepped outside and parted the leaves on the foliage you and looked across the walkway and beach you could see a bit off h20 - Ooh La La! We were in Jamaica which was a nice location and we had a great stay, but I would never EVER pay for a water view and I doubt I would pay for preferred again.

O.k. I've seen this asked many many times but only one or two answers.....

So what are the Pirate beds like???? Will I regret getting a pirate room??

At this point DH wants me to call and switch over to a preferred room instead of a pirate room and I might do it but I just wanted some advice first!

I found this link on the first page:

http://www.disunplugged.com/2010/03/17/disneys-caribbean-beach-resort-a-great-choice/

It is a review of CBR and has several detailed pictures of the pirate room beds and mattresses. He also gives his opinion of staying in a pirate room. I think this will be very helpful for you.

::yes:: Yes yes that's what has me :scared1: scared silly!!!

I even thought of switching to POFQ :joker: because I just don't care for the Nemo rooms but my kids really want that pirate pool. pirate: And let's face it...none of the pictures of other kiddie pools in moderates seem to even come close to the CBR. So I'll settle for Nemo and at least be able to sleep.

Thank you I was thinking of upgrading, but I quess I will just stick with the Stndard room that I have booked.
