Is there boat access to enter EPCOT that would land us in WS? I am reviewing a book (Fodor's WDW w/ Kids 2011 ed.) and it shows me a basic map w CBR being close to the lake (?) in WS. So just curious, because I had early asked a question about being dropped off by WDW bus at the WS entrance instead of the FW entrance. I was told by all y'all that the bus never drops us off at the WS entrance, which is not what this silly book says. So now I wonder if the map is any good. I appreciate any comments or info! TIA!

Sorry to say that there is no boat access from the CBR to any of the theme parks. The book is definitely wrong on that one.:confused3 There is a lake AT the CBR.

Thanks mickeystoontown and princessmom29, I figured as much. I will proceed to review this book with much caution!

I have a confused Question about Caribbean Beach! Why we have to show our Resort Identification in the busses to all of the theme parks! Can you Explained to me so I won't get confused?

You may want to look into getting "The Unofficial Guide to WDW". Probably the most comprehensive book out there.

I've never seen or even heard of that being done.

I'll second that recommendation. Don't let the size of it scare you off. Just bite off little pieces at a time.

I've heard of people going to park at resorts then taking transportation over to the parks to avoid the TTC &/or parking fees. I wonder if it has become enough of an issue that they are trying to crack down?

Last time we rented a car, but parked at the Poly because we stayed off site. I recall having to pay parking before that point. But taking the monorail to/from Poly and getting to MK was way easier than parking at TTC, at least for us. That was our travel day and had to get out of there to get to the airport on time.

I would actually pitch the Froders book! LOL!
I once got an older version at the library and just skimmed through it. I was amazed at how WRONG it was with alot of stuff.
Your best source of current info is here on the Dis. But I too like to sit with a book here and there. My suggestions is passporters. They try to really keep up on things, and I believe they update stuff on there website when it becomes outdated in the book. Also the unofficial guide is very popular. I have that one as well, but the thing I don't like about it is they really want you to follow there plan of action. There is alot of good info in the book, but there touring plans just don't suit our famioy. They really want you to get there at rope drop and avoid EMH at parks. My DD needs here sleep, so for us to have an enjoyable trip, we can't go that early, but we stil lhaven't had too many problems with touring going later. Also we like a few of the evening EMH. We usually do Magic Kingdom. But the parks are busier on those days, so if you have a hopper (which we never get), it would be best to do another park in the day and hop over for EMH.
Another one that seems fairly popular is Birnbaums "official" guide. It has great pictures, but not alot of info, and some of it is inaccurate as well. Especially prices for things.

When you call you are getting a call center that answers as CBR. You aren't actually talking with the resort. Why not call reservations and have your requests entered in your reservation?

So excited to read this! We are staying at Carribean Beach for the first time in October and we can not wait! :)

You will be our neighbors, we will be there at the same time! I just love Halloween at Disney!

For someone making their first-ever trip, I would recommend they read Birnbaum's "official" guide first. It's nice and colorful, with great pictures and is a quick read with the very basic info. Then, move on to the "Unoffical Guide" or Passporters for more detail. And of course, lots of time spent here on the DIS.

Hi, I think I may have an answer. When our family stayed at CBR in July, on 2 occassions a pizza menu from an outside business was slid through our door. The first night it woke me up at 3:00 am and I just tossed it out, I was a littled creeped out that someone was on the otherside of our door that late at night. Two nights later before midnight, a second menu from the same resturant was slid through the door. It completely freaked me out, I was still awake and it sounded like someone was jiggling the door trying to get in. This time I called the front desk to complain. They sent security to our room to collect the menu as evidence. I had asked how someone who is not a guest or a castmember at CBR is gaining access to the grounds and thought that security could keep them out. The security guard told me that non guests are picking up the buses from other parks or DD and riding them to the resorts. He told me that the resturant that left the menus was getting more bold each time they entered the CBR grounds.

After my experience, I would be very happy to show my resort ID to get on the bus.

Thanks for the info! Now I understand better thanks again!

I just returned from CBR. Nobody ever asked for id when going on a bus. I was disapointed with pillows this time, instead of good 2 pillows they had 4 tiny piloows per bed. Very uncomfortable. Feel free to ask any questions.

Were these in Pirate or Nemo rooms?
