First time staying at CBR...only stayed at Deluxe Hotels...will I be happy with this resort? What are some great things about CBR?? It is close enough to Epcot to walk and then hop on the monorail?? Thanks!

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think the walk from CBR to Epcot is like walking from the YC/BC, Dolphin, Swan, or Boardwalk. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do it. I know they are close in proximity, but I am pretty certain there is not a walking path. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Regardless, you will love CBR. The theming is great! Have you selected a preferred room or a standard room?

CBR is not within walking distance to any park. Although it is not far from Epcot and DHS, there are no walking paths. We are staying there for the first time next week so I cannot give any details, but we have driven through the property and it is beautiful.

Take a bus. Walking to other resorts can be dangerous since there are no sidewalks. Drivers are not expecting to see people on the roadways. It would be quicker to take the bus.

Yes we saw a microwave in the food court and you cannot walk to Epcot. You can however see the fireworks right at pool side. It was a nice surprise!

While it's true that CBR is across the street from Epcot, it's across the street from the back of World Showcase, so it's not like you can just enter Epcot back there (and no, it's nowhere near the International Gateway, either).

If you were in Aruba 56, the CBR building closest to Epcot, you could walk across the parking lot and the access road, walk across the grass to the edge of the resort, cross Buena Vista Drive, walk across a field and a marsh, climb a chain-link fence with barbed wire on top, walk through the minefield and the alligator-infested swamp, scale a 20-foot wall, and then if the sharpshooters don't pick you off, you'll find youself backstage between Italy and Germany in World Showcase. :happytv:

Cool! Thanks for the directions. I always get confused whether the alligator-infested swamp comes before or after the 20-foot wall. :lmao:

Will be leaving tomorrow, 7-10-09, for Disneyworld! Will make the trip there in 2 days arriving on Saturday. So excited! Will take lots of pictures of Carribean Beach Resort. If anyone wants a special picture, just let me know and I'll do my best to take it and post when we get back. (If I can figure out how to post a picture.:confused3) See ya!

:woohoo: Have a fabulous trip!!!

as for pics... Someone on the Dis suggested photobucket, so I opened an account, added the pics, then copy the img link here. It's really easy! :thumbsup2

Happy travels!!:goodvibes

CBR being the original (1st) moderate, has rooms slightly larger than the other mods(same size as WL & AKL rooms) and the tiny bathroom (shower/tub/toilet) is actually just a tad larger than the other mods - which makes it about the same size as POP. POP bathrooms are actually larger than most mods!

Oh My Gosh! Thank you so much for telling me. My family got very sick last year and we spent a lot of time in the bathroom. This year my mother is coming with us and I was hoping that it would have a larger bathroom as a perk to a possible upgrade. :( I can't win my hubbie over with that one, but, I know I can find other things.

O.K. how about comparing them to AS movies bathrooms? That's the only resort I've stayed in but we are coming to CBR next month. Thanks!!

Aw, I'm sorry - have not stayed at an AlStar resort, so have no idea what the comparison would be.

You're welcome! If you've stayed at POP, I think you'll be pleased with the room size of CBR rooms. As for the bathroom, remember, CBR has a nice double sink area, with shelves for storage and a privacy curtain in front of the sinks - it really makes it very nice!

If you are getting one room, request a corner room - and ask again at check-in. You'll LOVE it! If not, still ask b/c we've been in 4 CBR corner rooms and all had a connecting room.

Happy planning! :goodvibes
