Hey,

DH and I are home after a week stay at CBR:sad1:, I pouted all day on the way home yesterday and now want to get on line here and be helpful to any of you future CBR folks that might have a question.
The weather was hot/rainy, but it was still Disney!

Time to start planning the next one!!!:cool1: Glad you had a good trip!

Thanks for the link for the pirate rooms. Dh wanted to see them. I don't really want to spend the extra 200.00 on a pirate room. I would rather spend it on a perfered room. But there are no perferd rooms available for our free dining pin left. So we will see what we are going to do.

Why don't you just save the $$ and get a standard room and request a room in Jamaica, they are pretty close to OPR.

First: Yes, there are hairdryers in the rooms. I believe there is a picture of one in my trip report pictures.

Second: Yes, you can see the higher Illuminations fireworks from many areas at the CBR. We have watched them from Martinique, Jamaica and Old Port Royale.

Can you see them from the Trinidad South as well?
We'll be at the Pirate Rooms this November...

Hi all,
I really love this thread. We are lucky that my parents have just decided to take us to WDW Oct18-24 2009. We have some planning to do. We are a group of 6 4 adults and 2 kids DD5 DS4. We were in WDW 10/08 and stayed in WL but will be staying in a MOD because we need 2 rooms. I am really leaning toward CBR over POFQ. How are the buses, especially to MK? Are there adjoining rooms? I am having such a hard time making a decision. Help! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay the extra money for a preferred location. The walk around the resort is so pretty that I wouldn't mind being in any village.

I'm fairly in the know with other things CBR, but this one's beyond my experience!

Please tell me about Pool Lockers... how much do they cost? Is that for all day, or per opening? How do I pay for them - do they take coins or do I need to find a CM? If the latter, where?

TIA!

Yes we are getting a standard room. I can't see paying 200.00 to be close. We walk all day anyway. My only problem is can I get gound floor. We have a stroller and that thing is heavy.

You can make a request for a ground floor but keep in mind that it's only a request. While I have never had to carry a stroller up the stairs, we have had to take some large luggage up. The CBR stairs aren't real steep and have a little landing in the middle so it makes for easier climbing/carrying.;)

You can definitely request one. And if you get there and they tell you that you are in a second floor room, ask if you can wait until a ground floor room becomes available. I'm sure if they are not booked full they will *try* to accommodate you.

There are adjoining rooms :)

We stayed at CBR 2 years ago and had no problems with the buses. Have Fun! Have you checked out the new pool?

Mary Kay,

If you plan to request rooms with a door in between be sure to request connecting rooms, not adjoining. Disney terms!

We've had connecting rooms at CBR and FQ a few times. At FQ and POP we had 6 rooms, every other one was connecting and all of the rooms together were considered adjoining. Make sense?

CBR does not share buses, but does have several stops within the resort - we never found this to be an issue - although we did feel bad for guests getting on at the last stop. At FQ sometimes the bus stops only at FQ, other times it goes on to POR - but FQ during our stays FQ was always first to pick up and drop off.

Both are terrific resorts for different reasons! CBR was just refurbished last year, so the rooms will be fresher and newer. FQ was refurbed in 2004 and some guests report some rooms are beginning to be in need of a some refurbishment again, but it is still a great resort. I would go by whichever theme appeals most to your family. CBR is very beachy and relaxing..like a vacation within a vacation. FQ is smaller, charming and quaint...like a cleaned up version of New Orleans French Quarter. ;)

Hope this helps! Happy planning!! :)

So in my quest to save money on trips I have been thinking about not booking a preferred room by booking a standard, like in Jamaica. Does each area have its own pool and poolside bar? I read somewhere that parts of Jamaica are close to everything anyways- is this true??

Each village has their own beach, laundry facility, quiet pool and bus stop. Sorry, no poolside bars at the quiet pools.

Just wanted to add, so you would not disappointed, that Jamaica is by request and one of the most popular requests, along with Aruba.

Keeping fingers crossed that your request is granted and you have a perfect location!
