we requested a lower room in CBR for December 2010! OH! One more thing does the CBR has elevators I didn't have this info!

Well, that's not a pretty picture. How can they not let me into a park that they sold me a ticket for?

Like the other poster siad, they will send you to another park or tell you to try later. The ticket they sold you doesn't have a date or a park name on it.

No they do not have elevators

I read this entire thread before my trip, so I just wanted to pop in and say we just got back and had a GREAT time. We loved the resort. The buses were fine, we never waited. I think the complaints about the walks are sometimes exaggerated. We stayed in Barbados and my DH walked a couple times a day to refill his mug. I walked it twice in a walking boot (foot issues) and had no trouble and my 2 year old was fine with the walking as well. We ordered from Garden Grocer so we ate breakfast in our room on days that we didn't have Character Breakfasts.

We ate at the food court several times and the food was fine. Our room was quiet, clean and we really didn't have any issues. There was plenty of space for our family (DH, me, DD6, DD2, DD1) I would definitly recommend CBR and we will most likely stay again.

Anyway, thanks for all the info. It was really helpful!

Glad you had a nice trip! :goodvibes Thanks for the report.

I'm sure I'm just completely over analyzing this, but...

Do the busses get full and skip several stops? Do you often have excessive waits of 3 or more busses?

I've read through the threads about the bus routes and understand that they go clockwise starting at either Jamaica or Martinique. I'm just trying to figure out where a good location would be based on bus service, but perhaps this doesn't have a clear answer since the busses don't always have the same first stop.

I'm sure this seems crazy, but after our last experience I think it might be important to us. We stayed at Coronado Springs in May and almost every morning we headed to the parks for rope drop our bus was full at our stop. (We were the first stop and usually had to stand. Twice we stopped at the second stop, but could only fit a few more passengers.) We did not stop at any of the other stops and headed straight to the parks. A few times we overheard guests mention that they were staying in other areas of the resort, but prefered to walk to our bus stop rather than wait over an hour for a bus like they had the first few days of their trip.

This issue was limited to early morning and we were also there at a busy time (Memorial Day).

We will be staying at CBR for the first time June 5-12 and have fell in love with the pictures of the resort. On our first trip last year we stayed at ASMu and it was wonderful and had just about planned on stying there again until I received a pin offer in my email last night. I showed the resort to DH and both DD's and they loved it. DD's are extremely excited about the water slide at the main pool and the pirate ship kids pool. It reminded them of a smaller version of a water park near our home. I am thankful for this thread with details about the whole resort but I was wondering, I want to request a room that overlooks spaceship earth at Epcot but not sure what village or building to ask for. Where should I ask for??? I know it can't be guaranteed but thought it might be worth the try.
TIA

We have never had any bus issues at CBR. In fact on our last trip there most of our waits were under 5 minutes! We were using the Aruba stop, which is the second to the last stop for the buses that start at Martinique and we never had long waits in the mornings or any other time, so I don't think we were skipped. There was one morning that we waited over 20 minutes for an Epcot bus and we had to stand when it came, but that was it. That seems to happen to us about once a trip (waiting longer than 20 minutes in the morning) no matter where we stay (we have stayed at all the moderates).

I think a lot of it is just pure luck with the buses. One person may say that the buses are terrible because they happen to walk up to their bus stop nearly every time right after the bus they wanted just left. And another person there at the same time might walk up to their bus stop right before the bus they want comes nearly every time, so they say the buses are terrific. And it can depend on the time of year you are going and how crowded the resort is too.

Good luck! :goodvibes

There really isn't a room with a great view of Spaceship Earth. You can see the very top of it through the trees. Martinique is one place you can see it. At night if you look in that direction you can see the high works of Illuminations.

CBR is across the street from the back side of Epcot.

That is awsome!!! Is there a back entrance to Epcot and can you just walk there?? DD's both are Epcot fanatics.

Our family is staying at CBR April 25-30 and we are on the Quick Service meal plan:cool1:. Can you order a large pizza with the plan at the food court? If so, how many credits would it be? Thanks.

I think it was 2 or 3 credits but not for sure. We did think about it last year though and decided against it right before we ordered.

Hi everyone! :wave2:

We are going to be staying for the first time at CBR March 14-16th. We have a pirate room booked with an AP discount. Our DD3 is really excited about staying here. We have stayed at POP & CSR in the past and have had great experiences. Thanks for all the great info on this thread! Now I have to get back to reading it all!!!!! :lmao:

My husband and I just got back from CBR yesterday and it will be our last. We normally stay at Pop and decided that since it was our honeymoon we would upgrade to a moderate resort. I used online check in. It took forever to check in! There was one person working the online check in which is fine however there were more working the normal check in line with less people in it. We were in Martinique building 21. We were given a ground floor room which was great. The only thing was that the room was terriable. The lights were dim and only worked a few bulbs at a time. When we walked in the room smelled musty. You could tell the room had only been half cleaned becuase we were missing towels. I always clean the room myself when we check into any hotel. I use anti bacterial wipes on every surface so I knew that it was surface clean. The showers have 2 corner shelves. The bottom corner shelf was covered in soap scum! So bascially I cleaned the entire room myself. I could have called and said something about the cleanliness of the room but I work at a hotel and just figured it would be easier for everyone, myself included to just deal with it. There were only 2 friendly cast members and they were the 2 people that were sitting at the vacation club information booth. Most people were just rude and were put out to have to help you. At pop every morning they pressure wash the walk ways and always kept the grounds clean. CBR's walk ways are disgusting! there were dead worms all over the place, and it didnt rain until the end of our stay and they had been there since day one. Someone had spilled coffee on the walk way and it stayed there all week and what made it worse was that people were wheeling their suit cases through it. Our sheets were not changed once while we were there. My husband had a blister on his foot that bled through the night and the blood was on the sheets until we left yesterday morning! Our fridge did not work until the last day when I had to change the outlet it was in. I know that becuase I didnt tell the desk I have no right to complain here...but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up :/ our honeymoon when it came to accomodations was less than magical:headache:

Just wanted to chime in here....they also have the little bitty cups of half-n-half in the food court.

Yes, this is true and I was very grateful for them as I had to use them to stretch out the 24 pack of flavored creamer I brought. The coffee was good enough from the room that I'd make a pot of decaf at night also.:lovestruc

No. Epcot does have the International Gateway as a back entrance, but you can't walk there from CBR.

The only resorts you can walk to a park from is Contemporary to MK and then the Epcot resorts (BC/YC, BW, and Swan/Dolphin to Disney Studios and to the International Gateway at Epcot).

Congratulations to you and your husband! It's awful that your resort experience wasn't good, especially for your honeymoon. We stayed at CBR last July, and just stayed at Pop less than a month ago, for Christmas, so I can compare with you. We were lucky to have clean rooms and overall great stays at both. The issues you had are reported at all resorts. I think most mousekeepers are great, but then you have a few that just don't get it. The sheets are supposed to be changed every 4 days. As for the lights, that's energy saver bulbs and they take a minute to come to full brightness, my DH hates them. It seems that the main walkways are very well kept at most resorts, but the less traveled sidewalks are not cleaned as often. (There was a spot of duck poop that was never cleaned near our room at Pop last month. I also noticed a coffee spill on the sidewalk near our room at CBR that was never cleaned. You can't help but notice these things because everything else is so well cleaned. It's like seeing a field of fresh snow, with a few footprints, you can't help but notice the footprints.) I would still send a letter with your room complaints to CBR. They should know about the condition of your room. Hope everything else about your trip was great.
