Today was scheduled as a rest day. We had a bit of a lay in (9.00am) and I got up made coffee and we all showered. I knew that after breakfast the boys would want to go by the pool. I had scheduled today as rest as it was a Saturday and my thinking was the parks maybe a little busier. We had the same breakfast....does anybody else do the same as us and aim to sit at the same table?? or get one near to it??. We had sat at the same one until today and I was quite shocked to see a family sitting there!!....Dougy burst out laughing as he said I stopped dead in my tracks and just stared at them!!! I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast which was lovely. We were already in our swimwear so headed out to the pool. Got a really good position infront of the pool and it was lovely and quiet. I then realised a big difference between CBR and Pop Century where went last year....the noise!!. Its much noiser at Pop and they have the music playing quite loudly. At CBR there is just a gentle steel drum tunes playing which is really relaxing. The boys had me in the pool within minutes and it was great spending a few hours laughing, playing games and going down the slide.....think the lifeguards thought we were a mad family!!. After a while the boys agreed that I could have time soaking up the sum (yep another day without the clouds!!) and my book. Dougy was next to me reading the paper and it was lovely just to chillout. It got really hot so I kept getting up and sitting by the side of the pool my legs dangeling in and reading.....as soon as I started doing this another 3 ladies did the same!!. The boys wanted some fruit so we got some delicious strawberries from the food hall. I had a really good look in the shop spending time looking at things (Dougy thought I got lost) and the boys cooled of in the arcade spending their pocket money!!!. Got a drink from the bar and Jo Jo INSISTED I try another of her new cocktails!!. The boys wanted to go on the speedboats so paid for 2 of them (2 seater) for half an hour the cost was $25.00 each which was not bad as they told us we could be as long as we wanted!!. That was great fun!!. After another long swim in the pool it was decided that we were going to attempt Downtown Disney again and hoped Sam stayed awake. I went back to the room first to find the cleaner just finishing off. I had a lovely chat with her and we talked about different creams, shampoo etc. I ended up giving her a bottle of the Body Shops White Musk bodycream....she was really grateful as she adored the smell. I had a long soak in the bath befoe the rest of the tribe got back. Quick change and headed off to Downtown Disney. Booked Rainforest as soon as we got there and it was only a 10 minute wait which I was surprised at. We never do starters so after being sat under the ape (usual remarks from Dougy like 'look boys theres your mum at the height of her modelling career!') Tom wanted a burger, Sam a pizza, Dougy had vegeterian pasta and I choose the Shrimp Taglatelli. All was lovely and we had a good waitress. I told the boys they could have an ice cream from the shop further up (I cant remember the name...its an Italian Surname) but it was a tip from someone on these boards who told me to try it.....and boy was she right. Kids were in heaven. Sam had Mint Choc Chip and Tom Caramel Fudge...of course Dougy and I did have to taste it just to check it was acceptable for the boys to eat of course!!
We went into the huge Toy Barn next with Sam zooming over to the Mister Potato Head part. They have the new computers in now where you build up your own Potato Head and then you can print it off. The 3 of them were enjoying themselves with dougy giggling away like a 6 year old. His Potato Head now sits proudly on his desk at work!!!
Had a great time in the toy store Sam helps a crew member with building a tower of bricks.(I enjoyed the 'My Little Pony' computer and got Rainbow Lickerty Split to do a Fashion Show at Magic Kingdom!!)
We went into the Disney shop and bought a few gifts....headed over to the Lego Store...this is Dougys favourite in his element with the megablocks!!
Walked over to Pleasure Island and into Disney Quest. As soon as the Genuie in the lift confirmed we had arrived on level 3 the boys were out like a shot in seperate ways!!. We had told them not leave the level and Dougy went with Sam to play on the Star Wars game. I found the old games and can gladly confirm I am still the 'Frogger' champion!. Amusements are not my type of fn so I spent most of the time wandering around until I saw these two girls playing this drum game...it the one like the dance mat where you copy the moves on the screen but this just has the drum infront of you. As soon as the girls finished I had a go (checking around making sure noone was really watching as I knew I would be rubbish!!) but once on I was like a woman pocessed!!!....wanting to get to the next level. A girl aged about 12 came over and asked if I wanted to play doubles but I just said very rudely 'cant you see I am trying to pass this important level??' I then realised what I had said and came back into reality...a crowd had gathered around looking at me, I was sweating like a pig after banging the drum about 30,000000 times and realised there was a queue for the game. I lowered the drumsticks carefully and said 'I wish my daughter would not leave our game halfway through' and quickly walked away with my head down (I did take a mental note of my score though and vowed to go back to beat it another time!) Found the rest of the tribe batteling it out on the OutRun driving game and decided it was time to leave. Got the bus back to CBR and of course had to make time at the pool bar to meet our new friends. Bill and Sandra were there and had a huge bag of Duck food they had bought for the kids so they went to feed the ducks and we had a quick drink before retiring to bed!!
