Hi everyone,

I have a few questions about car rental, I am still 50/50 about renting one or not. We are going to WDW in October and staying in a hotel on I-Drive near Wet and wild. I *think* but need to check that the hotel has free parking. So my questions are..

1) I don't have a photo licence just a tatty paper driving licence. Would I be right in saying I would have to change that to stand a chance of renting a car?
2) How much does it cost to park at WDW for the day?
3) Where would the best place to get a car from, can anyone give me some recommendations?

Thanks!

Tom

Car rental:

1) A tatty paper driving licence is okay as long as all the info can be read, I still use mine as don't have a photo type and it's never been questioned.
2) It cost $14 to park at WDW for the day?
3) One of the best places to get a car from we found is Holiday Auto's but through Quico and another link which Wayne promotes, check out thread #7 at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3086877

Wow it's only coming out at about £200 for two weeks without me clicking the autos link.. This may be a better idea then using a taxi or various busses.

Why do WDW feel the need to charge for parking.. it's not like we will be parking there and going somewhere else..

Don't rush into booking until you done your homework on car hire, wait until you get a few more replies and also do a search of this forum.

Just below the page numbers on the right hand side of the main page of UK Trip Planning it states 'Search this Forum' click there and type in car hire.

As for the charge, those staying at a Disney Resort can use the free transport and park for free so it's an added incentive, whereas those staying off-site have to pay to park, suppose it helps subsidise the transportation system.

I wish I was on commission:rotfl:

For 2 weeks in Oct you should be able to pick up a small car from around £177 after cashback.
If you wait til nearer you will probably get it for less, for example for collections before end of August code "WEATHER15" will knock £15 off and cashback increases from 12% to 15% so you would be paying under £160.
