Car rental help

I have just started to look into car rentals for our Jan trip. We have 12 people (4 are in car seats/boosters). We are going to Universal our first night so would pickup on Saturday at MCO and returning to Dolphin on Sunday evening. When I looked up the prices on Alamo and National for a 7 passenger minivan and full size car it is well over $300 combined for one night. Does this sound right? I keep seeing people renting a car for a week+ at prices a lot lower than this. Am I missing something or is there a good place to get discounts that mit work for us?

It is possible to be that high for one night. Car rates are often high for short rentals and lower for longer rentals that you keep over a full weekend. Personally I would look for alternate methods of transportation such as cabs, limos, Mears shuttle, etc. in order to save some money.

Although if you look at it on a per person basis $300 for 12 people is only $25 per person which is probably cheaper that a shuttle service.

I agree! Typically, to get the cheaper rates, one must have at least a 3 day rental if not a Saturday included. As the PP stated, look into a car service to tote you where you need to go! It may save you some money in the long run.

You are also returning the vehicles to a different location. Have you priced a 15 pax van?
