So I got the bill in the mail today for our 6 month renewal and it is $100 more than 6 months ago. I called our agent to ask why and they said that there had been a rate increase and we were already getting all the discounts allowed so unfortunately there is nothing else they can do. sigh...

Does anyone have Geico? Are they good? I just did a rate quote online and it seems pretty reasonable. If not, who do you have and do you think you pay a reasonable amount? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes

Although I've had no increases - been with the same company forever (NY only, I believe) - have filed claims several times with no increase in premiums or threats of being dropped - my Dson-in-law seems to think I'm paying a little more than I should.. This is based on the number of years I've been driving; my clean driving record; no accidents that were my fault; and the amount of driving I do.. He's suggested I get some other quotes, but since this company has always been so good to me (I have my lake place insured through them as well), I'm reluctant to change..

I've heard so many stories of people being dropped after a single claim - or not being renewed after filing a claim - it brings to mind, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.." ;)

How have they treated you otherwise? That would be a big factor for me in terms of determining if a switch was worth the $100 savings - you know?

Good luck with whatever you decide..:goodvibes

Geico is a great company and if I didn't have USAA (not available to everyone) I'd be with Geico. Sometimes it comes down to dollars and cents and if you would be saving money I'd switch.

My sons policy just went up also $200 for each six month period. I also called his agent - nothing they can do. His discounts are there - under 7,500 miles per year, driver's defense class. His Auto collision portion went up. :(

I don't know from Geico, but I have AAA.

I may very well be paying just a bit more, but I love that the two times I was hit, AAA waived my deductible on both. In one, the other guy also had AAA, and in the other one, they went after him for the costs.

Plus, I did like the service. I wouldn't change my insurance for $100 increase, but I would do it for $250 or higher.

Are you happy with your current insurance company? I've heard good things about Geico so I think you are good to switch.
