Capture NX and white balance

Hi All,

Okay, one of the great advantages of RAW shooting is the ability to adjust white balance in post processing. I am running Capture NX and when I do a help search on white balance I get this:

"To change the white balance, click on the button for White Balance to display the White Balance dialog"

Well I have searched and stared at the screen for an interminable amount of time and have tried various menu options and have yet to find the button for white balance.

I understand that if you are viewing a JPG the white balance button will not display, but the images that I am working on are Nikon NEF format. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Do you see the base adjustments on the right side of the screen its over there under the RAW menu.

Something I noticed also is if the file has been converted to NEF the RAW menu does not come up and the white balance tab is under the RAW menu

As dr zero mentioned, it's under Base Adjustments>RAW Adjustments in the Edit List on the right side of the workspace.

If you're using NX2, it's under "Camera Settings" in the Edit List on the right side as they did away with Base Adjustments in the current version.

Yep, it's there alright! (Hmmm must have just happened...) I won't even try to explain how I missed it before.

I have just started playing around with it but its kinda cool, a friend gave me the older version for free so I figured I would give it a shot.

I really like it more each time I use it and I've been using it for about a year and a half now. I just started using NX2 which came out about a little over a month ago. Definitely some nice added features from the first release. For converting and processing NEF's, it fits perfectly in my workflow.
