Captain Marvins question

Many of you have posted Captain Marvins being a wonderful excursion for Grand Cayman. My question is: Is it doable to get to the excursion at 8:00 to check in for the 8:30 excursion? This way we still have the rest of the day to explore Grand Cayman.

We did Dexter's Fantasea tours on the 7/29 Western. We were up early for breakfast at Topsider's (they open at 6:30am), then headed directly to the theater to pick up our tender ticket. We sat for a little while waiting for the tender, as they were to begin at 7:30. We arrived about 7:40 on the island, and met Captain Dexter at 7:45. We never felt rushed... it was a GREAT trip. A calm catamaran ride out to the sandbar and an incredible experience with the rays. Truely an experience of a lifetime!

Its only a 5-10 minuts walk to Capt Marvins so if you can get off the ship as early as the above poster you should be ok. I know they held our boat for 15 minutes waiting for one more group that was supposed to come.

We were on the 7/29 cruise and did Capt. Marvins 8:30 excursion. You will have no problem getting there by 8:00. We went to the Buena Vista Theatre for tender tickets about 7:15 and were the first group to get on the first tender.

The walk was easy....once you are on the dock turn left and walk about 5 minutes to the light yellow building on the right hand side of the street. You'll see his sign.

We had a great time. We liked the early excursion b/c then we spent the rest of the day at 7 mile beach.....the shuttle will drop you off there.

Just a helpful note....we ordered room service for breakfast that morning and you'll need to get your own pool towels so you may want to get them early that morning or get them the night before.

How far a walk is it from the dock. I have elderly parents that cant walk too too far

Not far. Prob not more then 1000 feet if that. From the office, they put you on a bus to go to the dock.
