Captain Jack Pirate Tutorial

OK I have read this a little bit and where exactly is this in the park and how hard is it to get picked to do this. My son is a crazy pirate fan and would love to do this.
Any hints or tips on getting picked?

I have noticed that pirates of the Caribbean is closed when we r there does that mean this is closed as well?

Don't know, but I would think not.

It's a stage opposite the PotC entrance. There would be no reason to suspend the show, it's not part of the ride.
If your son really wants to be picked, he will increase his chances greatly by sitting right up front at the rope, smiling a lot and enthusiastically doing everything the Captain and his mate tell the kids to do. They'll ask all the kids to stand and put there arms up, do jumping jacks, etc.
my DD was desperate to be picked and wasn't .... She made me go back and sit through it over and over again. On the fourth or fifth time, I asked the photo pass photographer if anyone could let Captain Jack know that Becky's mom would be forever grateful if Becky could be picked so that I could do something else with the rest of my day. She got picked that show ... Not sure if it was connected.

Make sure he's wearing his birthday button prominently! That might help.

we will bday shirts on plus birthday ears on.... they r going to know it his bday. lol

My son was picked right away. We went to the first show of the day and were the first people waiting for the show to start. It was a great show that we all enjoyed. Jack Sparrow even picked on me multiple times for correcting his pronunciation of my son's name. It was a lot of fun and I hope your son is able to participate!

My granddaughter gets picked every year! We go to the first show, and are the first ones there waiting. She is very enthusiastic, and quick to respond. She also always wears a little pirate skirt and scarf. Not a costume really, just add-on over her clothes. At the end of the show they invite anyone else who wants to be a pirate to come up front and take the Pirate Pledge and get a certificate.
