be aware of where the exits are in relation to your cabin, especially for at nite ---
count the # of doorways from your room to that exit, if there's smoke and you can't see, and you have to crawl your way out.
have an alternative if that way is blocked
have a meeting place for your family if you are in separate places, and an alternative to that place, again if it is inaccessable.
there IS a lot to think about.
fire safety doesn't stop when you leave port, no different than you should have an exit plan at home ...
