Captain EO is back? Really?!

Once a suitable IP is found, that will become the theme of the updated Imagination pavillion. (Sadly, the reality is that everything new at WDW has to be tied to an IP.) As Inside Out appears to be a big hit and can be tied to the concept of imagination, I think there's a good bet that will be your next Epcot attraction update.

Try it again, but the way that my boys and I watch it. Instead of watching the movie, look at the people watching the movie. We have never laughed so hard. The expressions on people's faces as they realize just how horrible it is, and that it is only getting worse, is worth the walk over.

You seriously have me laughing out loud here! Thank you so much! I'm not even kidding - I seriously think my DH and I are going to do that!!! I can't even wait!!!!! I'll even think ahead and get some of the specialty popcorn that I THINK is in that area! Buffalo flavored popcorn here I come!

I do pretty well with the acronyms on the DIS, but I don't know what an IP is! Can you enlighten me?

Also, I would be thrilled if Inside Out made its way to that pavilion. I'm seeing it for the second time tomorrow. :)

Inside out can be the thing to revive the old life and health building.

My objection to EO is the terrible headache I get while watching it. My eyesight is perfect but the outdated 3D is what gets me to not want it to return.

I agree with OP. While I keep my expextaions low... I'm sure Disney can earmark a few dollars for something newer. I need not start the whole outdated Epcot thread here.

Yep, our conflicted college football fan (Buckeye Bama) has it right - Intellectual Property. aka "movie tie-in".

I'm not saying this is a good policy or that I particularly like it, but that's the way the thinking is currently going in the executive suites.

Some like it, some dislike it. Can't please everyone.

But I do agree that I'd like to see it go away for something better to be put in its place. I'd also say the same for country bear jamboree and the tiki room

The thing is, for everyone's 20th visit, it's many more peoples' FIRST visits. And you never know who might like something. My son LOVES EO. He's a dancer and thinks MJ is amazing. The storyline, cheesiness, painful acting, and singing are totally worth it just to see the rest of it. For DS.

Just because some people don't like it doesn't mean ALL people don't like it!

I saw it as a kid and saw it again when they brought it back,no reason to go in there again, incredibly cheesy and the 3-D is so old it hurts your eyes.I'm all for Disney adding another theater to Soarin to reduce wait times,I know it's also to reduce waits for when they introduce a new movie, but a major new ride in Future World would also reduce wait times and in my opinion it's beyond necessary, the amount of major attractions in Epcot is seriously lacking.

Never saw it and never will. I Despise MJ. If I forced DBF (now fiance') to see it, he would have ridiculed me for life. To this day, after two trips and 7 years, he doesn't know it is there. It would have messed up his "Epcot is my favorite park" vibe.

Don't go to it if you don't like it - so simple...

That's actually kind of sad to be honest...

It's summer. It's busy. Captain EO eats bodies. It's really very simple to understand. Don't over-complicate it. :)

I for one have never seen it and have no intention of ever seeing it. I still find it so hard to believe the mouse shows and supports a pedophile. If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck guess what.

MJ obsessed 10 year old
I know that you didn't mean it that way, but that phrase gives me the creeps. And it is one of the reasons why I'd rather that WDW not bring EO back. Some things just need to be retired.

If that were the case, then there would be no need to upgrade older attractions and create new ones. The same old stale shows would be fine. But the world changes and what was appealing to the masses 20 years ago is no longer of interest to many people.

I could live with EO in the Imagination Pavilion if I knew that it was there to "swallow crowds" while the Wonders of Life Pavilion was getting a rehab. Or of they were reworking Innoventions with something like an interactive tribute to the great inventors over the ages (just look at the quotes on the walkway outside the pavilion to get inspiration).
