I'll admit that I don't follow celebrity gossip news, but it has been hard to avoid the allegations against Michael Jackson over the years and the news about Jackson's behavior. He was clearly an unconventional man.is Disney crazy to even think about bringing this back? Good or not the controversial reports just released from the FBI about Jackson and young boys should be enough for them not to do it. There is still tooooo much smoke and where there is smoke ther is fire. I am appalled to thnk they would even go there again...
I don't think it will reach that far. I know HISTA is not gathering the crowds it used to (and it is aging), but I don't see WDW going back to Captain EO. I think it makes more sense to be at Disneyland and I really don't see them bringing it back to WDW and beyond, especially since it is so dated. Captain EO is not the answer to replace HISTA in my opinion (which the OP did not infer, but I am ranting anyway)!

Celebrity endorsers always have personal problems. Look at Rock n Roller coaster. Steven Tyler has been arrested several times for drug abuse. Has Disney ever thought about removing the Aerosmith connection to the ride. Nope. Ellen DeGenerous is a controversial figure, with her lifestyle. Is her Energy Adventure closed? Nope.
Didn't Energy Adventure open AFTER she came out? And I know Steven Tylers drug and alcohol abuse was public BEFORE RNRC opened.
Besides, Drug and alcohol abuse are not really taboo anymore and do really think Disney is going to pick a side on anything Gay? They either tick off a huge portion of their fanbase and employees if they come out anti-gay rights or they tick off a huge portion of their fanbase and have the baptists protesting again if they come out in favor. They play Switzerland, smartly, on this issue and so while people grumble, no gets too upset. Ellen is a none issue.
It is interesting though that Jacko still retains a lot of his former celebrity, while OJ, who also was not convicted, was a pariah. Its funny how the public views things like that.
