Captain’s Reception dress code

Is there a dress code for the Captain’s reception and are the drinks free?

No real dress code. On 7 nt cruises, the Captain's reception is on 'formal' night, so most people will be at least slightly dressed up. Yes, the drinks are free during the reception! Staff carry around trays of drinks and you just take what you want.

Concur, naked is not allowed. We have always dressed "nice". Some go overboard but most are respectful of the opportunity of meeting the captain and crew (who are in their dress whites) and dress accordingly. I would call it as Sunday best, going to someone else's wedding, meeting the parents at dinner for the first time, "nice".

They have beer, wine and mixed drink or two on the trays carrying around. And a non-alcoholic drink for the kids that looks fancy. It's in the lobby with lots of photographers for formal night. Some people dress up, some don't.
