What is everyone's opinions on breakfast at Cape May vs Tusker House.

We had a bad experience at Donald's years ago and I have heard much better reviews of Tusker house, so I was planning on giving that a shot on our next trip. However, now that I'm tyring to plan out our days/meals, I'm seeing Cape May would be much more convenient for us.

So, any opinions? Is 1 better than the other and why? Is there a big difference in food offerings?

Cape May has a very large selection of food, characters look adorable in their beach costumes, and the atmosphere is very calm and quiet for a character meal...Minnie, Chip/Dale, and Goofy are the regulars there...And they take their time at the tables...Great character interaction!

Tusker's food selection is much larger than it was at Donalds...We could not believe the difference in the food (for the better)...The characters also look cute in their safari costumes...Found their visits at the table to be quick...Also found the tables to be very close together...And the noise level is very high...Over all we have had good experiences but we have been unhappy with the amount of time the characters spend at the tables...They have a really cute parade with the characters every 45 minutes or so...

We have ADR at both for our upcoming trip...

If Cape May works better for your schedule I would say to go there...It would be great for you to do both but I guess Cape May edges out ahead for us but only slightly.

We had a bad experience at Tusker House a couple of weeks ago. i should preface that by saying that I really think our issue was a glitch, but it was still bad. We had reservations at 9:15 on an early entry morning so we got to AK at 8. We checked in right at 9:15 and it was obvious there were a lot of people waiting. We were given a pager and told to wait.

We have a 2-year-old with a short attention span, so after a 20 minute wait, we were frazzled! My husband went up to the hostess to question how much longer it would be. She had numerous silly excuses (only four people were seating guests - not my problem!!). After 30 minutes, I went back to the hostess stand and said we had reservations for a reason and a hungry 2-year-old and unless they could seat us NOW we would have to leave. She told us to go up to the NEXT hostess stand and ask for a manager.

Once we got to the next hostess stand, we were told that our reservation was no longer showing. They apologized, but still, we lost over 30 minutes in the park and we had a hungry impatient child.

We thought the restaurant was very loud and the character time was shorter than other character breakfasts we have been to in the past. Food was better than other buffet breakfasts we have been to though.

We have never eaten at Cape May but have read alot of great reviews about it on the disboards. Tusker House, for us, is a 1st day at the park tradition. We LOVE it. We have had nothing but great experience at Tusker House with both the food and characters (this will be our 5th trip to Tusker House). With that being said, I am all about convenience. Being in Animal Kingdom at rope drop after a great breakfast at Donald's Safari Breakfast is a GREAT morning! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I'm sort of leaning toward Cape May just because it will be so much more convenient for us...and will give us a nice feel for the hotel (we will be checking in that morning), but it does seem like Tusker House has a wider variety of food, so that is sort of splitting my decision still.

Food is better at Tusker House. Character interaction better at Cape May. I would not travel to BC to have breakfast there but it's really convenient while staying there.

Been to both. Both are good. If you need to pick one I go with Cape May unless you plan on spending the day in AK . It really depends on your plans for that day to.

Just returned yesterday and we did both of these breakfasts last week! Both were good, but I will give the slight edge to Tusker House.

I thought the food was much better and more variety at Tusker House. Not that the food was bad at Cape May, but there was a lot more to choose from at Tusker House.

Only 3 characters at Cape May (Minnie, Goofy, Donald) but 4 at Tusker House (Daisy, Goofy, Mickey, Donald). My DS also enjoys the little show they do at Tusker House.

We had to wait fairly long at Tusker House to be seated....but we did have one of the last ADR slots of the morning. Cape May did not seem as busy, but the characters did not stay and interact any longer here than at the much busier Tusker House.

Unless you are staying in the Epcot resort area or have a car, Cape May probably wouldn't be worth it. We were staying at the Beach Club Villas so it was very convenient.

Thanks again, everyone!

I should clarify. We are only planning 1 day for AK and that day we are doing lunch at Yak & Yet. During our stay we are changing resorts, checking in to the Beach Club. The morning we make this change is the day I'm thinking we will have a relaxing morning and do a leisurely breakfast. So, we will be right at the BC which is why Cape May is more convenient. Otherwise we will go, check in, then hop the bus to AK, mainly just for breakfast.

I guess I'm trying to decide is if Tusker House is that much better, making the special trip to AK worth it.
