We've never been to cape may cafe. What can we expect? Do they take your picture there like they do at Chef Mickey's? I read that it is a smaller setting & there is more character time. Is this true? I'm really looking forward to it. :)

I'd be interested in any reviews and info about this breakfast too. We are planning on going here in October.

Hi,

We like Cape May's breakfast. It's not as crowded and hectic as Chef Mickey's.

No pictures, but is plenty of character interaction. Of course, you can take as many pictures (and videos) as you want.

Hi!
We went to Cape May for breakfast for birthday in January. Was very nice - I love the theming of the restaurant - pastel deckchairs etc. Have been to Chef Mickey's breakfast too (a while ago though). I think probably the food's slightly better at Chef Mickey's but its good at Cape May. Our server wasn't great - took a while to get milk for cereal but that was only negative point for us. We definately got a lot of character interaction - they even brought signed balloons! Depends if you have young kids I think - Cape May is quieter, less young children than Chef Mickey's (noisy but is fun!)- depends what you like! Hope this helps!

I prefer Cape May over Chef Mickey's for both the food and the time spent with characters. While Chef Mickey's is more "festive" and lively, I found that it is hard to get a lot of time with the characters (not a big deal though). At Cape May, they often spend lots of time with you.

They do not have the photo op at the entrance to the restaurant though (thank God).

We have two dining traditions at WDW...arrival day dinner is always at Chef Mickeys and last day breakfast is always at Goofy's Cape May.
We find that the atmosphere is much less frenetic at Cape May. Much quieter...not subdued but better than at CM's.. I don't mind the hubbub at CM's at dinner but first thing in the morning it just makes me cranky!!

We enjoy the character interaction at Cape May. We have had some very good service there. We did have the worst service at the clambake dinner there though. But, breakfast has been terrific. We have had servers who offer to take a photo of all of us with the character, with our camera. We have some very nice shots from this meal.

That is so funny! We always do Chef Mickey's for arrival day dinner. This year I wanted to do something special on our last day too, that's why I decided to add Cape May! I'm looking forward to it. :)

Last summer we stayed at the Beach Club Villas and had breakfast twice at Cape May. This May we were at Old Key West and made a trip over to Cape May because we had enjoyed it so much. It is much calmer than Chef Mickey's. We think the food is better. The characters seem to take more time and the servers are always more than willing to take family shots. I think that is the only character meal where my DH and I are in the photos.
I think you'll enjoy it and be back on future trips!!!

We enjoy Cape May more than Chef Mickeys also. As others have said the food is slightly better, it is less hectic and the character seem to take time with everyone. Can't wait to go again next month as my nephew (7) picked it as his choice of character meal. The characters are very cute in their bathing suits, too! We also do Chef Mickeys as our first night meal!

oh you'll love Cape May Cafe. the characters come to your table and pose for pictures and sign autographs. depending on the situation, they get a little personal and it adds more fun to your breakfast. for example, chip came to our table during our first visit there. he saw that i was having scrambled eggs and told me to scoot over in my seat. he sat down and started to feed me the eggs. it was so funny!

the food is a buffet, so you can eat all that you want; scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, krispy cream donuts, pancakes, etc. it's a fun time. it really is. you'll enjoy it so much!
