How is this? We will visiting WDW nest month, and my DH has a convention in Orange County while we are there. For 2 days, he'll have the car, and I am trying to find us some breakfast options to get us on property (staying at Emerald Island) so we can then get to the parks without a car. Already have Chef Mickey ressies for one day.

Thoughts on Cape May Cafe?

And which parks are the easiest to get to from there?

Cape May is nice. It has to be the quietest character meal of them all. Food is fine, nothing great. Character interaction is very good and the CMs who work here are always very nice.

From BC, you can walk into Epcot through the International Gateway in the World Showcase (5 minute walk) or you can either take the boat or walk to DHS (both will take you about 20 minutes).

Couldn't have said it better... so I won't ! 100% agree ! :wizard:

Cape May is very gd,especially if you plan on going to EPCOT. Typical Buffet food not fantastic but very gd.

My family especially enjoys breakfast at Cape Maye Cafe. With lox on the buffet, it's "special" enough for me, our DGC are very happy with the menu and characters have always been lots of fun. We're going back in June.

DD's favorite character is Donald, so we picked this one because he's one of the characters. We really enjoyed this experience... the place isn't crowded, and you get a good amount of time with each of the characters. Definitely on our to do list again. It's standard breakfast fare, but then again, I love Mickey waffles, so I am happy!

Another great part is walking right into Epcot from there!

Can't add anything the pp's haven't already said but will agree. We really like Cape May & will be doing it again on our upcoming trip then walking to Epcot. Kids like it b/c it feels like you're sneaking in the back door!

We loved Cape May for breakfast. The food was great, the service was attentive and the character interaction was the best we had all week.

Sounds like we should try Cape May! Thanks for the replies!

One more question - if we walk over to Epcot, is it a problem getting in if World Showcase isn't open yet? We'd be eating breakfast fairly early...

No, it won't be a problem at all. We stayed at BWI one time and walked over to EPCOT early in the morning. I don't remember exactly, but I think they had WS roped off or something. It was no big deal.

BTW, Cape May is our second favorite b'fast place.:thumbsup2 Boma @ AKL is our #1 favorite.

The breakfast food at Cape May Cafe was one of the best of all the character buffet breakfasts.... Here's my review with pictures of the food.

As others said, easy to get to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. If you come back in the evening, be sure to check out the boardwalk entertainers near the Boardwalk Inn, much fun.... comedy, magic, juggling, audience participation....on the boardwalk usually from around 5:30/6pm until 10pm +/-

Thanks for the photos DisneyFamily123 everything looks yummy!!! :thumbsup2We're doing the breakfast for the first time this trip and I'm really excited to try it. We do the dinner twice each trip but for some reason we've never done the breakfast.

Cape May breakfast is one of our favorite character buffets. It's much more relaxed & open than most others. I didn't feel as rushed or as cramped there. The food was pretty much the same as any other buffet but the setting is perfectly lovely. I highly recommend it!

This is our favorite breakfast! The food is excellent and the charactes are adorable. Click on my Nov 10 thread for tons of buffet pictures

We love Cape May.....it's our favorite breakfast :). Both the food and service are great and the characters are cute all dressed in beach clothes :goodvibes.

I just want to throw one more option out there Ohana's at the Poly. I have
done both Cape May and Ohana's but like Ohana's a little more. I like the family style breakfast there. I also like the charcarter interaction. Not sure where else you can see Lilo and Stitch. You can then jump on monrail and go to epcot or magic kingdom. It sounds like you made up your mind on Cape May but wanted to give another option, to give you more to think about.

Cape May is one of our favorites, as it is low key, the food is good (love the lox on a mini bagel!), and the character interaction is not as rushed. Definetly a thumbs up from us!

For me Cape May is of a mixed opinion. The character interaction IMHO is the best available in WDW. It is not overly loud and they spend some good quality time at the tables and does not feel rushed. As for the food; very typical average run of the mill buffet breakfast foods. IMHO, nothing any better than going to a Golden Corral. However, I am very disappointed that for the price, Cape May does not offer a fresh omelet station.

We have been twice to Cape May in the past year. Both times had really great character interaction that never felt rushed.

On our first trip in Feb it was half empty and the characters came back I think like 3 times and spent even more time with the kids. Food was excellent and I am not big into buffets.

Our second trip was in October during F&W and the BC was so full they were moving people to the GF. Cape May was totally packed. The characters all came by once. The buffet was more average this time and the food was not as good. Seemed like things were being rushed out too soon for example to meet demand.

I would certainly go back but might pay attention to the time of year.

Thanks for the suggestion - we did Ohana two years ago, and while we LOVED it, I think we'll try something different. But you are right in suggesting Ohana because it's great! Thanks!
