Cape May breakfast

Q: coming from WL, would it be quicker to take the boat to MK, then the bus to the BC?

If you take the bus to Epcot or DHS and don't have a park hopper (and are not going to either of those parks that day, how do you get to the boat?

To get to the BC via Epcot you have to walk through all the way to England. So you would need a ticket, plus depending on how early you might not get through. The boat for BC at DHS is in front of the park so no ticket would be needed. I think the walk through Epcot is shorter then the walk from DHS. But it would be a nice walk by the water and Boardwalk. I read somewhere that it was a 20 minute walk. Personally I would give myself at least 30 minutes, especially with kids.

I agree the character interactions are so much nicer at Cape May. The whole feel is more relaxed. Less people are there. The characters came back 3 times and played with the kids more. Our best photos from our last trip were at Cape May.

The food was decent, unlike our breakfast at Ohanas which was very poor. Expensive of course :) My husband still complains about the cost. Though to be honest that was the only meal we did not have a friend with us with her tables in wonderland card. We do plan on going back when we are at the BC again.

I have park hoppers for duration of our stay. Can't add no expiration (Disney UK) so using tix is not a problem. DD is a good walker and has no probs with a 10 hour day at Epcot, to give a basic indication. It is more a question of keeping things simpler and not wasting a whole lot of time. Also will go with the least likely route to get "lost" so at the moment DHS is looking like the better option but I am still open to any suggestions. :goodvibes

I think most of the character meals are fairly expensive by normal standards so this is no worse than doing Chef Mickeys. The food has fairly good reviews though. :)

In your situation, you could not take the bus to Epcot without wasting your daily park admission, because the boat is on the other side of the park, just outside the International Gateway exit near the France pavilion. You do not need park admission to travel to the Studios and take the boat, however.

After leaving the bus, walk toward the main gate and veer right to the dock. No ticket necessary.

That said, I think your other plan may work better. When we stay at Magic Kingdom resorts, we usually use that park as our transportation hub.

Also, to the original poster, definitely consider walking to the Beach Club from the Studios. It's a bit of a trek, but it's beautiful strolling along the waterway, and you'll work up an appetite for your upcoming breakfast!

The day I am thinking of, I am planning a late bfast, specifically because of the need to allow time to get there. I was actually thinking anytime from 9 am to 11 pm, but the later the better. Hmmm, what to do. I can change it. I've only changed my whole itinerary about 6 times in the last week! I am getting quite good at rearranging in a hurry

I am the Queen of change when planning, sometimes I wonder if the staff at the phone lines want to pull out their hair when they realize it is me AGAIN:scared1:

Mine usually stems from a review or a request, but I have learned my lesson on one restaurant never again will I give up a reservation at LE Cellier, those ressies are like the Golden Ticket.

Oh good! Some moral support! :lmao: I have had ongoing issues with planning this year. Upgraded DD to adult due to allergies (easier than waiting at CS) then after months of querying conflicting info on my online booking it turns out they could not do it on flight inclusive due to date of birth etc. So it got reversed and I had to re-plan my dining and park itinerary to accommodate appropriate child options/ones I could eat and trade with her. Then her father (my ex DH) announced he would meet us there for " a little bit" so I tweaked plans to accommodate him being there. After pressurizing him for 2 months about the importance of ADRs he sent an sms on Saturday saying to go ahead without him as he is still not sure. That could mean anything coming from his mouth :lmao: So I reverted back to what I had but added in some changes to better suit it to what I want.

So this is just one more thing to add to the list of amendments. I can't guarantee that something won't come up after ADRs to change it up again. This is a surprise trip for DD bu if DD knew what I have put into this trip's planning she would never question how much I love her ..... or my need to be in charge :rotfl2:

We are kindred spirits, this sounds like my last trip I booked. It was a celebration over Grandma's VICTORY over cancer. She would call me every so often and tell me she was not sure if she was up to going YET!:scared1: Not something you want to hear after spending money on 4 plane tickets, and have MINI-van reserved, and have booked the perfect RESTAURANTS, and got the YC for 14 days!

I finally said, its ok if you cannot come. We will be there, and if you can make it we WILL HAVE THE BEST VACATION we ever have had. Grandma made, and all was well. GOD BLESS who ever invented those scooters.:cloud9:. That is what enabled her to go and REALLY enjoy herself.

That is a beautiful story! Is she okay now?

I realise every once in a while that far too much gets pinned on the perfect ADRs and plans and while planning in my opinion is essential, I will admit that I could get by with a lot less. I mean, does it REALLY matter if you eat lunch instead of dinner or if you cancel an ADR for CS/dont' have an ADR and end up at Earl of Sandwich for a yummy salad?! At the end of the trip all I remember is how great it was to have had a wonderful time together. The food I swallowed is long gone and all I remember is the experience.

Yes THANKS!! She is doing very well. It had been a rough time for awhile for her and my siblings but the corner was turned and last blood panel she is still cancer free. The radiation really did a number on her. I think what her getting sick taught me is not to let a day go by that you do not tell your family :grouphug:how much they mean to you. Do not put off those vacations, we do not know what tomorrow brings. Do not take tomorrow for granted.

As you said does it really matter...... We need to learn to bend a little more, and just enjoy the moment our family is a gift.:flower3:
