***Can't keep us down...OFFICIAL MAY 2021 THREAD...come heck or high water we're going to WDW!!!***

Its so frustrating for me that wasn't an option when I booked. When I asked yesterday if they could switch mine since it wasn't offered, the CM told me I should have paid attention to emails as they sent a mass email telling people about it. As if it was my fault. 😐

Um, no. I didnt get that.
When did you book it? The CM on the phone automatically did it for me without me even asking

January, so before it started I guess. But I feel like I should be grandfathered in or something!

I'm just really emotional about this. We've had some really hard times past year and a half and this trip is kind of what anchored me and kept me moving forward through everything.

Ugh I’m so sorry. I hope you get what you want out of it

Oh thanks! I'm okay.

It will work out somehow.
For sure! Hopefully we can all enjoy our true then without too many restrictions. Just hoping this covid situation is under control then. I’m really looking forward to that trip!

Gosh y’all are getting your park days together meanwhile I’m staring at 2 whole weeks on this calendar like

502530

I think I’m going to just get whatever for every day and then modify a million times down the line once plans get more coalesced. Like I do with ADRs. :rotfl2:

(I actually do have days picked out for my Labor Day weekend trip but that was only 5 days and I’m at the Dolphin for now)

But what’s the best park to celebrate my 35th in? The most magical one 😂. I already know I want the poison apple martini at artist point

I’m trying to figure this out for my 40th. Now if we mean “Magical” like “with the best liquor” I’m torn between Epcot and AK. I miss Nomad Lounge!

I never been to Nomad lounge! I should go next trip.

We are doing a 3 park trip in May and my husband said no to Epcot. So it must be one of the other 3.

Well I can't reserve parks yet, but I planned my days anyway. If not for having to book soooooo early, I would love this. Much easier than choosing rides.

Wed - Epcot (makes sense for arrival day)
Thurs - MK
Friday - AK
Sat - Epcot (brother's arrival day)
Sun - DHS (so we can all experience GE together)
Mon - MK
Tues - AK
Wed - DHS
Thurs - not sure
Friday - home

I really want to see TSL as we haven't yet, so I could make DHS first day and wait for Epcot. But if Rat is open at Epcot, I really want to do that too. This is when I will miss hopping, hopefully it's back by then.

This whole week is going to be interesting for sure. Right now I have 2 confirmed reservations and an annual pass. Tomorrow i'm going to make park reservations for my Dec 2020 and May 2021 trips

For December, I wanted to do a split stay half DVC points and half value/mod resort. I was waiting for AP discounts, so I only have my DVC resort booked. On June 26th, i'm going to reserve 2-3 park days with my AP and the play the hotel situation by ear. May off-site for a few days?

I want to do a September 2021 Food and Wine/Halloween trip, so I might call on the 28th to book hopefully a value resort/park reservations.

To top it all off, I will be traveling for a DVC & Disney Springs only trip on Tuesday.

So my next May is 9 nights and 10 days(added a night when i booked after losing this May) Our park hopper tickets are 9 days( i now need 10) I called and cancelled our Sept trip on Sat and the CM recommended i book my 9 park days for May tomorrow and add an extra day on the 28th when tickets go on sale for 2021. She also said i could keep my hoppers in case they allow hopping next year and if they dont, then next year i can convert them to non hop and they will refund the difference. So thats our plan so far. Here is our hopefully park day schedule:

1. Epcot- arrival day, getting in by 830 am staying at Boardwalk
2. MK
3. HS
4. AK
5. HS
6. AK
7. MK
8. HS
9, AK
10. Epcot-departure day, flight in evening

we hope if we can hop by then, we will spend more time at Epcot but HS is my hubbys fave park and mine is AK, so hence they get 3 days each. If we can hop next year, i will switch out the Epcot with an MK and another HS or AK, and we will simply hop to Epcot.

We've not booked our hotel yet and were going to wait until my husband knows his course schedule for the Spring semester. That wasn't going to be until mid December. Now I'm thinking I should just plan on us arriving the Friday after the last possible day he could have finals. The difference is arriving on a Thursday vs. Friday and its worth it to be able to book asap and get our park reservations. Our itinerary will be:

Fri 4/30-Arrival
Sat 5/1--MK or EP
Sun 5/2--Resort Day, spend the day with our FL family that we rarely see.
Mon 5/3--MK or EP
Tues 5/4--Resort Day, catch up on work emails.
Weds 5/5--AK
Thurs 5/6--HS
Fri 5/7--Departure

I still might wait a week or two to book the room after they open up 2021 just to see how things shake out. (Translation: wait until Disney's website has a time to stablelize from everyone logging on at once.) I'll be surprised if any of us have trouble getting the dates we want this far out. Surely there aren't that many people crazy enough to plan their vacation out 10-11 months ahead.

Well after three hours and trying every trick in the book, I finally have my six days park passes booked for May 2021. Listed park hours are really limited but hoping things open up more by then. Now all we need is a vaccine...

I looked at park availability calendar link that someone posted - looks wide open!

Of course when I look at the link in my MDE, it shows everything as full for every month, so I'll just use the other link.

I feel a LOT better about not having my tickets for 2021 yet. :)

What were the park hours looking like? I realize they’ll be shortened so the park can be disinfected but I’m hoping it’s not too bad.

I booked my reservations for my September trip and took a peek at May 2021 even though I won't be able to book for that trip until Wednesday. They are still showing the same limited park hours as the initial re-opening but they will assuredly change by then.

Just found out Savi’s isn’t going to open in the beginning. Surely it will be by May. Surely. That is the only thing that’s not opening in the beginning that would be a deal breaker for us.

Welp... I’m not able to book anything for May 2021. I have all of my park reservations for July, but when I go to May it says that I’m maxed out.
