Can't believe how booked up Dec 2008 is!

I tried to book POFQ for week of Nov 21-29 and it is all booked up already, at least I get this message "The Resort you requested is unavailable for the dates and party size selected. A comparable alternate has been provided. To see if the Resort you requested is available for other dates and party sizes, use the Change Your Search module at right.". Could this be true? Or will they release more dates later? i'm not even sure we will be able to go yet, over a year in advance but maybe this is normal for week before and week of Thanksgiving? Have always gone is June before and able to book whatever wannted 4 months in advance, now trying for 15 months in advance and no dice.

I really hope that you guys are right and that they just have not released all the rooms yet. I think that if I can not get the WL we will just stay at a Value or moderate.

Might want to consider a good Disney TA - they will keep checking and will book it for you as soon as it becomes available. They talk with Disney so many times each day, and keep tabs on what their clients want/need.

Have heard good things about Dreams Unlimited here and the one recommended on www.allearsnet.com is excellent as well.

Am sure you'll get WL for early December!

We're looking Nov 22-30...when I try for the first half of the trip, theres stuff available.....Thanksgiving weekend, nothing. Try that and see if the mods aren't available at Thanksgiving too. I wonder if its the holiday weekend they don't have open yet.

I would keep checking. Last year I was looking for rooms and nothing was listed, then a week or more later, there was a room I wanted. Don't give up, it is still way more than a year away. Be persistent and keep trying.

Mods are available, but I was specifically looking for POFQ, guess I'll just have to try Riverside or another mod but POFQ is our favorite

I agree with a previous poster that they just have not opened up all the rooms. There is no way that all rooms below the category of Courtyard Bunkbeads are booked 16 months out. Most people do not know about the 500 day booking rule. There are still tons of people still just thinking about WDW in December for 2007.
I am sure more rooms will open up in the coming weeks/months!!

I know - I was just poking around for dates for CSR and the week I choose has no openings- Febuary... - I dont see how these dates fill up so soon after being released.

Thanks for all the replies and encouragement! I'll definitely keep checking the site everyday hoping they open up other room types. I did the math and from today to our date(Dec 7th 08) is only 489 days. I can't see how WL became that booked up with room only reservations in 10 days! Thanks to the Dis I'm not giving up hope!

I went ahead and set up to go to the Poly Club level the following week.

that WL rooms are available online for August 08 (a very busy time of year) and none for early Dec 08 (a quiet time of year). I would definitely say that some rooms are being held back. Also, when I originally tried to book WL it would not give me WL rooms but offered me options at other Deluxe Resorts (automatically came up with suites - although you could edit the screen and change to other room types). However, when I clicked to edit my request and selected WL, rooms were suddenly available in all categories.

I really didn't think I needed to book a room a year in advance, but now I'm wondering...

I have been told by more than one CM that not ALL rooms have been released yet, they will be released a little at the time, and you have to keep calling back. A hassle I know, but you should have no problem if you keep trying, many times I have called a month later and gotten exactly what I want. And they are still having issues with the computers also, so that is presenting a problem as well.

Yes, I am booked for December 6-14, 2008 at the Beach Club, 1 day base and Basic Dining Plan, which I am not happy about, but at least I have a reservation. There were quite a few cabins avail. Problem is, the system hasn't been working most of the day, neither online or phone in. You can book a package at least 499 days prior to your arrival date.
