I was thinking of booking on Red Week two reservations with similar dates at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. One was 6 nights and the other was 7 nights Tax isn't charged on ebay and vacation stradegy or from most owners. 6 night tax $136.88. 7 night tax $140.00. Fees on 6 night $119.50. Fees on 7 night is $122.00. On these 2 reservations, besides $18.99 membership fee, total taxes & fees, $518.38.
What a ripoff. I used redweek in 2024 and I don't remember paying taxes & fees. Just membership. So disappointed!

Florida requires the collection of sales taxes on all short term (less than 6 months) rentals since 2011, I think. Perhaps your last rental was before then?

That's because most owners are not collecting the required FL transient tax. Redweek isn't ripping you off so much as individual owners are flouting Florida tax law.

Or, the other owners are collecting tax, but are not separately listing it. They are including it in their total pricing.
