Hello everyone! I have a Cannon Elph 300 HS PowerShot camera that DH bought me for my birthday back in February. I've been using it on a semi-regular basis without any problems. However when DH and I went out of town a couple of weeks ago any pictures I took are completely blown out.
For example:
Taken when it was mid-day and sunny
Taken early morning, very overcast and foggy
I get the same result regardless of what setting I use and the conditions of when I take the picture (morning, evening, daylight, overcast, etc.) The camera was purchased refurbed (from Amazon) and I haven't had a single problem with it's ability to take pictures until that weekend. And when I use the camera to take video, the video is perfectly fine.
Any ideas? It hasn't been beaten up or anything, it sits in a pocket in my purse most of the time as I don't do a lot of picture taking outside of vacations.
Since it was purchased not new and from Amazon I'm not sure I have any recourse as far as getting it repaired (if it is something that can even be repaired) or replaced.
DH seems to think maybe a sensor has broken, but would a camera like that have a separate sensor for the photo portion than the video portion?
TIA!
