Candy Buffet for Graduation Party

I am having a candy buffet for my son's graduation party. When does the Easter candy go on sale at Target, Walmart, Krogers, Meijer etc?

I majorly struck out today looking for sale candy. I had a little luck at CVS, none at Walmart or Walgreens. I gave up and didnt check Kroger.

I stopped at CVS this morning to pick up another bag of something that was a big hit here, and there were only 2 bags left! They were already 50% off.

Candy usually doesn't make it to a bigger markdown in my store. People snatch it up at the lower clearance price.

Target holiday markdowns usually follow a 3-3-2 schedule (this came from our discussion forum). Clearance merchandise goes to 50% off the day after the holiday, then 3 days later 75%. Bagged candy starts at 30% then goes to 50% and 75%. Again, 3 days after that what’s left is 90% off. 2 days after that it goes to salvage (Goodwill). If that holds true for Easter 2011, April 25th = 50% off, April 28th = 75% off, and May 1st = 90% off.

I got a bunch today at 50% off at the grocery store. My dd birthday is in June, her favourite colour is pink and she loves bunnies. Clearance easter candy works out great for her party!

Our Walmart had lots of candy left and it was 50% off today.

I bought $40 worth for our buffet.
(This doesn't include what I already have stashed in the closet)

It was 50 percent off at Meijer today when I was there.

In the April issue of All You maagine there is a coupon for $2 off snickers, Dove, etc. If you pair that with the Miejer sale that could be a couple of cheap bags of candy.
