Candlelight Processional

If they booked out too many reservations for regular dining during the candlelight processional time period I am sure they will let you convert to a candlelight package. To say otherwise just makes no sense. Many CM's don't tell you the correct information because they either haven't been informed properly or the information hasn't been released yet. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Actually this time they seem to be in quite a predicament as in the past, dining reservations were only allowed at the 90 day mark. With the new changes allowing for ADRs at 180 days out, things are a little different. I heard from an extremely reliable CM that the packages won't be able to be converted. Again, only time will tell.

The Guest Relations person assured me that a certain number of tables are set aside for CP. Regular ADRs being booked will not effect this. Regular ADRs cannot be converted. When a regular ADR is canceled it will not, therefore, put another in the pool for CP. I asked her all these questions.

What is being effected by the lack of packages at this point are the people who just want to book a regular ADR as they are being taken by us and then additional tables are being held for CP.

I know I will cancel my non CP ADR and I hope the rest of the world does too.

Sorry if I used the wrong effect vs affect. I never know which one to use :rotfl:

I hope that all made sense too.

She also indicated that last year was the first time that they released the packages before the normal booking window so they normally release them AFTER normal ADRs can be made. Maybe it didn't work well last year.

Not to be the Grammar Police, but you asked.... ;) Use "affect" when it's a verb meaning "influence, change," like in your sentence. Effect as a verb means "to cause, make, get done." Effect is typically used as noun - something that has been affected will cause an effect. ;)

OT:
Thank you! It always makes sense when I see the rule again, but I can never remember the rule. Oh well!! I'm not sure I understand the verb part of "effect" rule though. I get the other two that you wrote. Can you use effect as a verb in a sentence then?

I won't remember next week, but hey, right now, I'm trying to better myself.

I only did it because she asked! :teeth: Normally I rarely point out mistakes as I'm prone to them myself...

I found this on Dictionary.com:
Affect and effect have no senses in common. As a verb affect is most commonly used in the sense of “to influence” (how smoking affects health). Effect means “to bring about or execute”: layoffs designed to effect savings. Thus the sentence "These measures may affect savings" could imply that the measures may reduce savings that have already been realized, whereas "These measures may effect savings" implies that the measures will cause new savings to come about.

Very few people use "effect" as a verb, so it's almost safe to say, use affect as a verb and effect as a noun. (And we won't get into adjectives and adverbs for the sake of everyone else! ;) )

Please allow me to pm you when my son needs help this year in English as a Freshmen!! :goodvibes I can offer my services in math though.

I always got in trouble in speech for using my adverbs wrong in college. I never did understand what I did wrong. The guy was a horrible teacher :guilty: I think I added "ly" when I wasn't suppose to, but it's been too long.

Okay...I have no more news on the CP ;) except that people booking regular ADRs will not affect how many CP there will be. Just like the FDP.

How did I do?

:teeth: Perfect! I was a newspaper editor for three years and a reporter for two, so I try to keep my mouth shut about grammar. But if someone asks, I'm happy to help! ;) Perhaps we can call me the Grammar Nerd, not the Grammar Police! My mom is worse - a math teacher who is a stickler for using adverbs correctly. And I can't add anything without a calculator!!

Called today and was told to check back at the BEGINNING of August for the packages. He said that they are still trying to confirm the "talent" and will not release the packages until this is done. He also said that they cannot convert previously made ADR's to CP dinner packages, but did say that a certain amount of tables at various restaurants for times to go with the different performance times.

Thanks for calling. I hope it's the beginning of August. Mid August I'll be nutso!!

Is it true ALL Epcot restaurants are now 1 TS? My parents are going in September and I'd like to tell them ASAP.

I don't think anyone knows this for sure, as there have been no firm details of this year's package offerings.

UUUGGGHHH!!!!!!! Everytime I see a new post from one of our "regulars" I get so excited for good news...

Thanks for checking and posting!!!!!!

I actually had a cast member tell me the other day that he would be glad when they start doing the CP packages too because he knows the phones are going to be out of control and just wants to get past that part. I sure hope it's soon.

Still Waiting....but I have a few questions...

The ONLY day we have open to do this is 11/24, we fly home the next day.

My original thought was to book the 6:45pm show with a 4ish time slot at Le Cellier, this way we could see IllumiNations afterwards. Now I'm thinking booking the last show (8ish?) with a 5ish time slot at Le Cellier. I presume IllumiNations doesn't go off until AFTER CP is over.

I know the shows are identical, but is one time slot better than the other for the show? Also what day/times are you planning to go?
