Candlelight Processional

I called today to set things up for my MVMCP date and the CM said August, not July 31st--she said there is a misconception that it will come out that day but is the F & W info. Her name was Heidi, she was super helpful!

She said to be sure to make my CP dinner arrangment soon and that I could always call back & back it the dinner package, is that correct?

It would be hard to do without knowing the speakers, but we're pretty flexible and have never seen it before so it will an experience no matter who the speaker is, IMO.

Hoping that the dinner pkg will be back of the DDP, too! :)

OK. That's the same info that SeattleMark shared the other day. Hopefully they'll announce (soon) when the packages will actually be available.

From talking with the lady in Guest Relations, she indicated that there is not always advance notice of when they will be released.

We need someone's experience from last August if they were told earlier what the date of their release was or if it's like AP rates and they just show up.

I checked my notes from last year.

Last year we knew the narrators by August 4th and also knew the packages would go on sale August 15. Both, by the way, was the earliest they've ever been released before. Before last year, they were released in the Fall and the packages were released before we knew the narrators.

I remember having to wait until the end of August to book the CP package. But you also had to wait for that 90 day window to open for ADRs back then also. Now, it's a 'horse of a different color' it seems to me. Everyone is able to book their dining spots at the 180 window, but no CP narrators listed, and you can't book a package for it yet. So, there are a lot of people who have already booked their dinner spots for the night they want to do CP....so, how many of them are going to change to a package when they are able to do so? The thing that gets me is that we have no idea how many 'spots' are being kept open for those of us who are waiting to book packages for CP. I'm sure there are those who really aren't basing their ADRs on who is narrating that night....they want a CP package on a particular night. Here's hoping they open up by the end of July/early August this year.

:wizard: Subscribing! :wizard: Anxiously awaiting August.....probably the only time in my life I've wished summer would go faster! ;) :teeth:

I don't care who the speaker is, the only night that would be most convenient would be 11/29. I'm really hoping for LC (didn't make an original ADR, we're living on the edge! ;) ) as we're going to Chefs for lunch. But I guess if it comes down to it we could find somewhere else to eat at WS.

Yep...this is me. We only have one day available (11/24) to do CP. So no matter who is narrating, we want to eat at Le Cellier then do CP. Right now we have 8:30pm ADRs for Le Cellier, hoping to change that to 4ish with the CP for the 6:45 reading.

From what I understand, it is not possible to change an existing ADR over to the CP package. I guess we'll have to wait and see! :thumbsup2

You rock! I knew someone would have the info :goodvibes
The lady I talked to had this same info too, but not if there was advanced warning...meaning last year was the earliest they were ever released.

Thanks for posting. Hopefully, we will have a firm date soon.

Anyone know how difficult getting a CP is going to be? In other words, is it like trying to get an OLD PS for CRT...be on every phone available at 6:55am EST?

OR is it a little more civilized....call the day the packages open, but not necessarily at 6:55am.

Also...with the CP..is the "purchasing" like HDDR... you pay in advance, but you can get your money back without penalty if you cancel within 48 hrs, or is it like the "parties"...one you buy the ticket, they are yours...no refunds?

Thanks!

As far as calling is concerned, it depends on what date you are looking for. Weekends, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day tend to fill up the quickest. I'd recommend calling as soon as Dining opens to ensure you get the date, performance and restaurant you want.

Last year the CP dinner packages were added with the Dining Plan. What I mean is that you could book a CP dinner package using a TS credit under the dining plan. If you are not using the dining plan, then you would pre-pay, depending on what level of dining you want.

I know when we went in 2003, I called in November and was able to book Le Cellier at a decent time on a weekday with the package. But - that was 3 years ago! And the dining plan was not as popular then.

Ok I am clueless. Can someone please tell me what the Candlelight Processional is? I saw someone ask back on page 2, but didn't ever catch an answer to it.

Thanks.

We did CP last year. It was for a Wednesday or Tuesday on the second week of December. We called in the middle of November and had plenty of open time slots for Chefs de France. I don't know what it'll be like this year though with the 180 ADR thing. I don't know if they've set aside as many tables as before.

No, you can't change an existing ADR into a CP package....I was thinking of those folks who have booked at LeCellier at say, 7:00 already, but once the CP package comes out, they will cancel the existing ADR and make a new one with the package.
I'm just watching and waiting...want to get Alfredo's. Here's hoping they let us use the DDP, with just one credit for Alfredo's.

Although we won't be taking advantage of the DDP, I too am curious as to whether they will still offer the Tier 3 restaurants for a single credit. Time will tell! :cool1:
