Called this morning...CM said they are hoping for Mid-August.

Umm ... you won't unless you are calling Disney on the minute every minute.

I'm pretty sure as soon as someone here finds out that it is available, there will be at least 5 or so threads on the same subject.

I talked to a CM the other day and she was saying mid to late august...she said she heard a tentative date as aug 27th but there was nothing set in stone yet

My understanding is that by the time the last CP showing is over all the "good" spots for IllumiNations are taken.

Depends on when you are going. We used to go in early December and had no problem finding a spot back near Japan or Morocco after CP. May not be the best spot but it beats waiting for 2 hours for a prime spot.

The concierge staff at AKL just told me the package wouldn't be released until mid August the earliest.

Last year we did the 6pm tree lighting, then a 6:30pm dinner at Le Cellier and an 8:15pm CP - it worked out fine. The tree lighting is close to the Canadian pavillion.

Did you find you had to rush at all after dinner to get to the CP? I think we a re shooting for 6:30pm so we can do the same, but I am not sure how early you need to get to the CP for the reserved seating or how big the line gets

Yes you do have to rush a bit. When we checked into Le Cellier we mentioned we were in a bit of a rush, the service was excellent and the CM did everything she could to ensure speedy service. We immediately left when we finished eating and went right to the line, it seemed very long (I think almost to Morocco) but when they let us in it moved very fast and we still got great seats with excellent viewing. There was even a bit of room up front but we prefer to be a little further back so we get an overall view. You can see and hear from any seat. The only time I would want to be up close is if it is raining.

Just signing on so I get the latest and greatest. When we have done CP, even when we were at the end of the line with the package, the seats were still good. They fill in the package seats first and then the other stand-by line comes in after that. Besides, we prefer to sit in the middle of the area as we like the vantage point better than right up front.

At this point I'm just going to start calling first thing in the morning every day starting 8/1 until I get a definite date the CP is released.

I only have one date available to do the CP.

Can I presume that whenever they release the CP is will be available at 7am? In other words they won't release the packages at 10am or 3pm?

August will be a busy (and expensive) telephone month for me...CP, IllumiNations cruise, carrriage ride at Ft. Wilderness, maybe a code. Can't wait to see what my long distance bill is going to be!

I'm right there with ya! I only have one day that will work as well and it's during the week of Christmas when it will be a mad house.

I assume they will come out at 7 am, but who knows.

This is pretty frustrating. I just wish they would come out with the packages so we can get settled and know what we're doing. This is the last thiing that we have to do on our itinerary. I'm not even concerned about who the speaker is at this point as long as we get the dinner package. I know I would still get to see it without the package, I would just rather have it.
