Candlelight Processional Meal Issue

We have 6 in out party. Four of us (2 small children and DH and me) plan to skip the CP on the evening we attend Epcot with my in-laws (we will have seen it the week before and doubt the kids will sit through it again). Can we book a late lunch or dinner with 2 for the CP package and the other 4 without - but still all sit together under the same ADR?

From what I can remember is you are given tickets to the Candlelight Processional during dinner. You don't have to use or even take the tickets for the entire party. Just ask your server to give them to someone else or you can take them yourself. Then give them to someone waiting in Candlelight Processional line. That would be a personal 'Year of a Million Dreams' giveaway from you to another guest.

Actually that is a really nice idea. But we were sorta hoping to save some money by NOT booking the CP package for the 4 of us not going. None of us are big eaters. We usually do an entree and drink and that is it. The package price would be a HUGE increase from what we would spend otherwise.
I called a CM tonight and was told that we could not book a table for the 6 of us and only pay for 2 for the package (and the rest just pay for normal meals). Instead we will have to book 4 of us for one meal and 2 for another meal with the CP package. Oh well. I guess the grandparents get a night off from us if they want to attend that night!
