We will be at WDW from Dec 15 - 23 and I want to see one of the Candlelight Processional performances. Is it possible to get seats without getting the CP dinner package? If so, how early would you need to get there to claim seats?

people line up on standby 60-120 mins before showtime. They take ALL the dinner pkg people into the theater first and then pull standby guests off the line to fill in any empty seats. For popular narrators and dates closest to christmas, it is entirely possible to wait 2hrs and still not get a seat. The more popular the narrator, the closest to Christmas it is , the harder it is

When you do the CP dinner package, do you say what time you want to watch or is that specified at the restaurant?

Depending on which show you choose depends on the dining times you get..example-The 5pm CP show is considered a LUNCH sitting(All meals need to be eaten BEFORE the show). At this point, I would call see which restaurants might have avail. and which shows might be avail.

When we were there 2 years ago we had the dinner package but we noticed people lining up almost 2 hours before the show. Not sure if they all made it in or not.

We have adr's for the 5 show. They scheduled our lunch for 1:45 so now I am worried about getting a good seat since people with tickets line up at 3

I think it's only the people without the CP Pkg. that line up that early. On allears it says to be there 30 to 45 mins before showtime to get good seat. They open the theater to non pkg people 15 mins before showtime. Here is a link to some great info on it. http://allears.net/tp/h_cpfaq.htm

Unless things have changed since '07, they have separate lines for people with the CP package versus without, and people with the package are let in first.

Trace Adkins and Susan Lucci are the narrators toward the end of your trip, and I expect they will be very popular. The pkg would guarantee you a seat with a shorter wait. However, you can get in line for the 5:00 and if there are no seats for that show, you stay in line for the next show. It's a lot of waiting, but you'll probably get in eventually.

Lorraine Braco and a yet-to-be-determined narrator are at the beginning of your stay. You MIGHT have better luck without the pkg with them, but a lot of that will depend on who that narrator is.

Going during the week as opposed to the weekend is also a better idea for lower crowds.

Thanks everyone for the help. I would have missed CP all together. I'm anxious to learn who the "to be determined" narriator will be.
