Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

Do you think it would be important to get to the reserved illuminations area on Dec. 12? Or will there be plenty of spots to watch it from if we go to the last CP show?

We went to the last CP show and made it to the reserved area and got a good place last year. I am not a fast walker and it turned out OK.

Well just checking in before the mayhem tomorrow morning! I'm off to bed now as its 11.20pm here and want to be up nice and early to get myself organised before the all important phone call!!!!

Good luck to everyone, hope you all get what you want pixiedust:

There is no such thing as a 'finalized' list of narrators. That list can, and does, change once it's put out there. There is a reason Disney puts a disclaimer at the bottom of the listing once it goes public. I have booked the pkg on a night with TBA being the narrator!! You really have to decide what is going to work for your particular planning. If there is a narrater that you really want to see, then book for that night. But, even then, that person may have an issue and not be able to perform.

As far as pricing goes, we have a ball park figure to work with. You should have the restaurants listed as to your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices..that way you're good to go if your 1st choice is booked up.
I know that last year, a particular restaurant was more important than the timing of the show...so I went with an earlier show in order to get the restaurant I wanted. Be prepared to be flexible.

Just spoke with a CM. I asked if missing narrators had been filled in and was told yes. When I asked who would be there on 12/6 she could not find anyone. She put me on hold and checked with someone else. Here's what she said. After Isabella Rosellini there would be no shows until 12/7 when Jodi Benson will be there. She did say that 12/5 was a VIP show and not open for general booking. I hope she is wrong. I can't believe they would not have any shows considering they have been doing this for what 35 years or something like that. Any one else been told this?:confused3

Is it my imagination, or are the buffets, for CP, roughly $10 more than non CP dining? And, if you do the math, you can't break even at some of the restaurants, even if you order the most expensive choices? Has it always been this way?:confused3

Do you know if we can book these tomorrow online of just on the phone? If we can book online what time would the online booking system open up for Candlelight Processional packages? Thanks!

Seriously hope this was just another case of a "mis-informed CM" . I can't imagine no CP shows for the days that are TBD - it doesn't make sense. They've been saying the CP will run 11/26 - 12/30. People would be in an uproar, but I guess Disney can do whaterver it wants. I'm booking tomorrow as well and the date I'm booking had TBD as the narrator. I'm ok with that as I just want to experience the show and will have a great time regardless. However, I will be extremely disappointed if there are no shows the whole week I am there!

Just spoke to a CM (obviously a different CM) that said the first week of Dec is listed as TBD for the narrator.....BUT there are times and booking slots on their calender for reservations to be entered. Also, calling through the passholder hotline and requesting Candlelight Processional information, a taped message lists the dates from Thanksgiving until Dec 30. There are no interruptions in the schedule. There will be no tiers, each restaurant has its own pricing.

Let the games begin.

This really threw me for a loop! I will have to think about what my other options might be to go for another date. I had been planning to go on 12/5!!!! My family is thinking that they would like to shoot for 12/10 with Whoppi Goldberg, we will have to cancel our O'hana reservation though. Glad that I made a back-up ressie for 12/5. I would be really upset if I hadn't because there isn't much left in Epcot for that date.

Hope everyone's gearing up! :cheer2: I found this great article online about the CP dinner package:

Is the Candlelight Processional and dining package worth it?

Follow the link at the top to refresh yourself on what to do when calling Disney Dining- it'll save you some time since surely we'll all be re-dialing millions of times. :thumbsup2 I just checked Disney online and still no info posted. :surfweb:

Since I'm in CA I guess I'll be staying up 'til 4am and beyond for my beloved CP dinner package! I'm booking for 12/22 so I'm a bit concerned to say the least. Good luck everyone! :grouphug:

No tiers  how is that supposed to work. Think I am going to have to call myself and see what the CM I talked to says. Now I am getting so :worried:

Another update! :wizard: All summer it seems as if Disney has been withholding 90% if not all of the ADRs for restaurants participating in the CP dinner package (specifically Coral Reef and Le Cellier). I just scored 2 ADRs for both CR and LC so it looks like Disney has released some ADRs in anticipation of the upcoming CP dining package tornado which is fast approaching. There were actually multiple ADRs available at both these restaurants!!! :scared1: Hurry!

Good link! Thanks a lot! :)

Think a lot of the problem with the misinformed CM's are misreading/misunderstanding things because the one I just spoke to at first told me the eating times were 5 p.m. 6:45 p.m. & 8:15 p.m. so I had to say "uh, you mean those are the CP show times?" and he was like "oh yeah, sorry"
He was able to give me a few examples of prices:

Restaurant Marrakesh - Lunch - 5:00 CP show - $41.53/adult
Biergarten - Dinner - 6:45 CP show - $50.05/adult
Tutto Italia - Dinner - 6:45 CP show - $66.02/adult

Said same thing about no tiers, but that was right before he told me the dinner times were the same as the show times so who knows.

Of course 1 minute after I got off the phone I realized I forgot to ask about the 11/29-12/4 shows, which fall during our trip. Guess will have to find that out tomorrow.

Good night everyone, see you back here tomorrow :wave2:

Prices with tax? I'm so confused and can't believe that there is nothing published from Disney yet...the CM's tomorrow morning will hopefully be able to navigate this without losing their marbles!!

Anyone else feel like it's going to be hard to get to sleep tonight? I am hoping that there are not any glitches in the system and this all goes pretty smoothly!

Thanks for the tip! I just scored an ADR for LC on 12/20! I've never eaten there, so it goes without saying that I am very excited. I was going to book a CP package JUST to be able to eat there during my Christmas trip. So glad that I'm not going to have to shell out all that money for a whole lot of food that I won't eat. Yay!:yay:
