Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

Now that the day is almost here, I think I might faint! :) As I'm thinking about it I realized I don't know the answer to this ?...If one is using the DP for CP, is one able to book @ any tier level? We r going 2 HDDR & were only 'allowed' to choose from certain seating areas. TIA for any info! Can't wait to read everyone's updates tomorrow! GL all!

There is no reserved seating at the CP for those with CPPs. Usually there is a section in the front roped off for VIP seating. Other than that, it is open seating with persons in the CPP waiting line allowed in first. When it is a certain number of minutes before the show (15 minutes, I think) if there are other seats left available persons from the standby line are allowed to fill in until no spaces are left.

So do we use the special dining events CM's or do we just use the regular dining reservations? I don't want to waste time by going to the wrong CM. Thanks

Yikes! It will be my first time booking CP dinner. If someone actually makes a flowchart and is willing to share, please post it. I'm sure it would be helpful to lots of newbies. TIA!

I can't believe it is tomorrow! So excited I hope everyone on the Dis gets what they want!:goodvibes

Barb - everyone's would be different. What you need to do is decide on your priorities. Which is most important to you - date, showtime or restaurant? The more flexible you are, the longer your flow chart would be. Personally, I have a weekday night that fits best in my schedule with the narrator of my choice (I just double checked his web site and it still confirms his dates at CP.) I have a show time preference. Then I have 4 restaurants listed in priority order (not everyone who wants Le Cellier is going to get into it.) My next alternative is to go for another night but that will involve changing around my touring plans and other ADRs so I hope to get one of the 4 restaurants on my date & time choice.

Do you think they will have the narrator list confirmed tomorrow? The date we want is still listed as TBD.

Another newbie asked but I didn't see answer (sorry if it was there and I missed it:eek:

Do you call WDW-Dine or a special events number? I

thanks:)

I feel like I'm missing somethign really obvious! Have Disney still not officially confirmed restaurants / prices etc on their website?! :confused3

Last year the reserved space was between the 2 shops at the spot where the path from Future World intersects with with path around World Showcase (it is called Showcase Plaza). It is directly across the lake from the CP, so a good hike. Also, all 3 CP shows share the same special viewing spot. If the special viewing area is important to you then the 6:45 showing is probably a safer bet.
There was no way that we could have made it to the reserved section across the lake following the 8:15 show last year.
I was hoping to go to the 8:15 p.m. CP show, then to the seating area for Illuminations at 9:30 p.m. Is this feasible?
The show,if it starts on time at 8:15,takes close to an hour. If you stay for the whole thing, there is no way that you'll get to the viewing area in time for Illuminations.
I see. I thought I'd read somewhere that the CP show was only 40-45 minutes, so I thought it would be done by about 9 p.m., and we'd have 30 minutes to get to the seating area for Illuminations.

If the show takes an hour, though, this is not going to work. Why do they advertise a special seating area for Illuminations if it's impossible for the people in the last show to make it?

Maybe we need to go to the 6:45 p.m. show instead? I hate having to eat that early, though.
Everything I've read recently says the CP show lasts about 45 minutes, such as this post here. This would seem to indicate that we'd have 30 minutes to get from the CP to the Illuminations seating area. Is this really not feasible?

Again, why would Disney advertise a special seating area for Illuminations if it's impossible for the people in the last show to make it?

Thanks! I've obviously got to make a decision by tomorrow morning which show to request!

I spoke with Disney dining this morning and got confirmation on the prices and restuarants listed in a previous post. The only difference is that I was quoted 23.99 for a child's meal at Garden Grill. I questioned the price of the Child's meal for Biergarten and she though it was odd, but that was what was listed. She said that everything should be posted tomorrow and that prices could change between now and then.

Ginnymack, thanks for catching my error! I wrote down $23.99 for kids for Garden Grill but just typed it wrong. Oops!

Still cannot believe NOTHING is posted anywhere else about options and narrators. How do they expect people to be prepared when they call. I think Disney has clearly dropped the ball on this one, big time!

Good luck to all.

I believe the first poster I quoted means can she book any level of restaurant if they are using the dining plan. The second poster is right about package people being let in first. There are always some rows dedicated to stand-by guests, because Disney advertises the CP as included with park admission,so they have to have some rows for the general public available.

The reason I said close to an hour is I count the performance as starting from the downbeat of the conductor for the overture to start till the high school choirs leave the stage. That brings it to close to an hour. If you don't get out in time before the choir leaves the stage and crosses the pavilion, that is a few extra minutes added to the performance time.

We almost always book the last show. Though you can get to the reserved Illuminations viewing area before it starts, you will most likely be standing behind those from earlier shows since a lot of people tend to get there earlier. We normally just find another viewing spot closer to the stage and get a better view than we would by going to the reserved area, which is standing room only, no seats! Of couse, we've seen the holiday Iluminations show many, many times.

Personally, our priority is the choice of CP narrator and CP viewing time/ meal time, not the small reserved Illuminations area. You have to decide for yourself what your own priority is and then reserve with that choice in mind. If you haven't seen it, the holiday Illuminations is lovely with the additional ending!

OK, thanks, that makes sense.

I didn't realize that the reserved Illuminations viewing area is standing room only! Really? I guess I'd assumed there was some type of seating available at the Showcase Plaza. Maybe the reserved Illuminations viewing area isn't really worth it?

Do you think they will delay tomorrow's booking date? They haven't posted info or finalized the narrators.

Do you think it would be important to get to the reserved illuminations area on Dec. 12? Or will there be plenty of spots to watch it from if we go to the last CP show?
