Since this will be my first time at WDW during holiday seasons, can someone tell me if it is truly worth all this hassle and stress?
I think it's worth the stress. My sister and I did the package last year, and i'm glad we did. We got in the reservation line about 45 minutes before show time and that line was already well into the Japan section of the WSC. We ended up sitting near the top. I'm not even sure if the stand by line got in at all. We also loved the reserved section for illuminations.
Edit: I guess that I should add that since my sister is a teacher, starting last year, we had to changer our annual December trip from early December to Christmas week. It's much easier to get into the show in early December.

They said to come back at 2. Well, we had to leave for the airport at 1 and almost didn't try again. Then it dawned on me... if they said 2, then they probably build in some "cushion" so that not everyone would pile up in line at the same time. Sure enough. It was just opening again by 12:45. We were one of the first back in. We had our last ride and ran for the airport.
